Elsie

Elsie is a restored railway carriage in Somerset, positioned beside the operational West Somerset Railway line between Minehead and Bishops Lydeard. Every room has views across the line and towards the sea. The whole carriage is yours alone, arranged on one level with direct access via ten steps to the entrance.

Inside, a living and dining space runs into a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—oven, hob, full-sized fridge, microwave and washer-dryer included. Three bedrooms follow: a double and two with bunk beds, each with a television. The shower room has a double shower and heated towel rail. Heating comes from electric central heating and a wood-burning stove. Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are provided. A large garden outside offers space to sit or play, with private parking for two cars and a barbecue. One dog stays free; dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. The track beneath the carriage is accessible and still in use, so children need close supervision outdoors. Smoking is not permitted inside.
