Goodwin House
Somerset
Goodwin House is a recently renovated cottage in the village of Shepton Beauchamp near Ilminster. It sleeps 6 across three bedrooms—a kingsize on the ground floor with its own shower room, another kingsize upstairs, and two singles—plus a family bathroom with bath and shower. Everything needed for a self-catering break is in place: the kitchen has an electric range, dishwasher, fridge and freezer; a utility room holds the washing machine; heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all covered, along with logs for the wood burner. You get the run of the whole property to yourself.
The living room centres on a wood burner in an inglenook. Glass doors from the kitchen/dining room open onto a patio with furniture and an enclosed lawned garden—useful if you're bringing a dog, which can stay free. The utility room also connects to the garden. Private parking for three cars sits to the front. The cottage doesn't accept smoking or hen and stag groups; standard arrivals are after 4pm and departures before 10am.
