Harperfield Chalet sits on a private estate in rural South Lanarkshire, overlooking the Douglas Water and surrounding countryside. The river runs through the grounds, about 20 yards from the house, with a private dock for fishing or simply watching the water pass. The whole property is yours alone, sleeping four across two bedrooms and a bathroom, all on the ground floor for easy access.
Inside, the chalet is built for comfort: a kingsize bedroom and one with twin singles, a living and dining room with a 43-inch TV and a multi-fuel burner, and a kitchen with an electric cooker, air fryer and other essentials for self-catering. The large garden includes a hot tub under a gazebo with outdoor speakers, a firepit, BBQ and games area. There's a balcony with seating, a children's play area, and space for two cars. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included, with an external utility room for laundry.
The location works for a break away from it all—rolling hills and quiet surroundings—but you're only 10 minutes from the M74 if you need Edinburgh or Glasgow. No smoking inside the property.

Harperfield Chalet is a fantastic gem! Cathy was very welcoming to the four of us on arrival, which gave us confidence that we were in safe hands. The chalet felt very airy, loved the high ceilings in the bed rooms, they felt very fresh. Beds were comfortable. My two children were very happy in their room. Both bedrooms had ample space to unpack and store clothes. The kids love the games cupboard. There was something for everyone, from young to old. My son enjoyed playing with the dominos and jenga. Cathy and Julia clearly thought of what guests would likely need on their break away, I particularly liked the washing machine and tumble drying discreetly in the hut at the top of the garden to use any time we needed for emergency. The garden space is vast! So many places to sit and chill. My two kids and partner and I had space to have our own time but still be safe in the one place. The weather was not great while we were there, however it did not dampen our spirits, we made great use of the outdoor features. Our favourite part was the hot tub. You could tell it was a good quality hot tub as it kept its heat really well and it was quick to warm up to 40oC. We were in the hot tub at least 3 times a day. We loved using the Bluetooth speaker next to the hot tub, great sound off it. We regularly used the fire pits and the bbq. Cathy and Julia had a great abundance of firewood and coal for us to use which was greatly appreciated. We were grateful for the peace and quiet and privacy given to us, however we knew that the owners were just a phone call or chap at the door away if we needed them. In our last day, Julia kindly offered the kids to meet her horses. They were so lovely and well behaved. Julia was very down to earth and you easily felt at home in her presence. We look forward to coming back and highly recommend Harperfield Chalet to anyone needing a break away from the fast day to day life we live in. This is a place where you can let go and relax and potter about the garden or simply chill in the chalet.

Just back from a couple of days vacation at Harperfield chalet and missing it already. Absolutely stunning location, top notch accommodation, tranquility at it's best and to top it off, the hosts were wonderful. Cathy and Julia couldn't do enough to make the stay for my daughter Rebecca and I truly memorable from start to finish. Can't recommend highly enough to anyone who is looking to get away from it all to their own little slice of heaven.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Perfect Stay – Truly a Hidden Gem We stayed for one night at Harperfield Chalet in Lanark, and honestly, it felt like heaven in the hills. The location is absolutely stunning—peaceful, secluded, and perfect if you’re looking to completely switch off and relax. The chalet itself is modern, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. Every amenity has clearly been thought through and goes above and beyond expectations. The hot tub with those views is just incredible—easily one of the highlights of our stay. The grounds are just as special. Being able to fish right on the property was a huge bonus, and the animals (sheep, horses, and the friendly cats) added such a lovely, homely touch. Cathy, the host, was exceptional—so welcoming, friendly, and genuinely funny. You can really see the care and effort that she and her daughter put into maintaining the property to such a high standard. We also really appreciated the thoughtful extras: treats, juice, water, and plenty of tea and coffee. There was more than enough wood and coal provided for the fire, which made everything feel even cosier. The detailed guide they’ve put together is brilliant too—clear instructions for everything in the chalet, plus great recommendations for things to do, shops, and places to eat nearby. We genuinely couldn’t fault a single thing. It was worth every penny and more, and we will definitely be back. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay!😊

Cosy chalet in beautiful countryside. We enjoyed a 2 night stay where we visited Glasgow and Edinburgh. The chalet had everything we needed and such lovely touches of fresh flowers and a welcome basket. We only wished we booked for longer as it’s an ideal place to unwind. We had lovely weather and enjoyed sat outside with a bottle of wine in the evening and breakfast looking out at the views. Thanks Cathy for making our stay so lovely. Michelle
