West Down Orchard Touring and Camping Park

Well worth a visit. The main grassed area is well kept, but there are quite a number of permanent motorhomes and caravans that are a bit shabby and slightly overgrown which detracts from an otherwise lovely site. The men's (at least) shower room needs a refurbishment. On my first night it was slightly smelly as they are houses in the same room as the urinals etc. The sink area however was clean. I hasten to add the smell was gone on my second night. With 18 acres of orchards to wander and exercise yourself and your dog thre are some walks to take in and an easy walk to Over Stratton for The Royal Oak and Farm Café.

Nice campsite let down by toilet and shower facilities Nice, tidy campsite, lovely friendly staff on arrival. Beautiful view of the surroundings. It looks like many of the pitches on this site are for people who are living there rather than on holiday. Was let down by the facillites though, very tired toilet and shower block, dirty and in need of refurbishment.

A late review but we will be forever grateful for our experience with the West Down Orchard team. During the summer we had been camping in Devon and our trailer broke down on the way home. We phoned this campsite on a Saturday afternoon when we could find no option to buy parts for repair and needed somewhere to go. Not only did they offer to find a pitch for us last minute, they came to pick up our trailer and help us. A lovely and friendly team, so kind and helpful and made us and the children feel very welcomed. We will be back again to visit as we want to look at the orchard and the local farm shops we never got chance to explore. Thanks so much

Fantastic little site, clear entrance, very helpful on arrival and check in. Toilets and showers very clean. Fantastic little extras if you forget anything little razors, toothbrush, combes shower gel. Water pressure great showers. Little shop, handy milk, teabags etc. fantastic walks through 18 archers of apple orchard. Can walk to a farm shop5 mins away. Also next village 20 mins with a fantastic pub. Loved it and will be booking back in for October Fantastic 5 days.
