This family-run site tucked into the Lincolnshire Fens is a proper angler's retreat, with a well-stocked catch-and-release lake just a minute's stroll from your pitch. Mirror, common, crucian and ghost carp share the water with roach, rudd, tench and bream, and you can fish round the clock with a day or 24-hour ticket (two rods per person, valid licence required). The handful of level grass pitches mean it never feels crowded, and sheltering hedgerows keep Fenland winds at bay while foxes, hares, deer and a rich birdlife provide entertainment for non-anglers.
Facilities are straightforward – toilets, showers, washing-up and chemical disposal clustered in one corner – though some visitors note they can feel a touch tired in places. The village post office sits 50 metres from the gate, handy for picking up a fishing licence or supplies, and the local bus driver will often drop you right outside if you ask. Spalding and Peterborough are 25 minutes by car, The Wash nature reserve 45.

Happened upon this gem last week as was so impressed I revisited this week. Plenty of space for motorhomes, caravans and tents. Lovely and quiet, only the sounds of nature. A very warm welcome arrival too. Facilities are older but perfectly fine, it's a campsite not the Savoy! Will definitely be back!

Great place to pitch a tent or caravan for a quiet place to stay, also great place for fishing. The owner Alf is a nice chap who was very welcoming.
