About Charabanc Meadows

Tucked into 18 acres of Lincolnshire fenland, Charabanc Meadows is a wonderfully relaxed pop-up site where pitches are mown into long grass with generous space between them. Skyward, you'll often spot buzzards, kites, falcons and cuckoos wheeling overhead, while muntjac and red deer sometimes emerge in the meadows and along the River Glen at dawn. If wildlife proves elusive, the site's own lambs, rabbits, goats and hens provide entertainment – you can even collect fresh eggs, chicken cooperation permitting.

The riverside location invites kayaking or paddleboarding if you've brought your own kit, and neighbouring ponds offer well-stocked coarse fishing. Off-grid but thoughtfully equipped, there's borehole water, solar-powered packs to borrow for charging, and firepits available. Bourne and Spalding are both ten minutes away for supplies.

One caveat: the A151 runs alongside, so expect some traffic noise at peak times. Venture across the riverside dyke, though, and tranquillity returns.

What visitors say

Sarah Baxter

Wonderful quirky CL with a free airshow overlooking RAF Coningsby. 5 lovely pitches..some gravel. Bob and Tracey are wonderful hosts and have put everything in to making this site very special. There is a lovely spacious shower room with wc and library together with a washing up area and fridge. The pitches are spacious with 10 amp electricity points nearby. Coop is in Coningsby and we visited the nearby Bluebell Inn which is a host to so much aviation history as well as serving great food. We will definitely come back

A lovely site in a great location. We have just spent 4 nights here in our touring caravan. So peaceful with views across the fields. We wanted to be near to RAF Coningsby which this site is. We were treated to a TYPHOON display run on the Friday morning right above the field opposite. Bob is super friendly and on hand to help and answer any questions.

Lovely CAMC CL Site. Bob was extremely welcoming and helpful. He and Tracey produce a booklet with all the info you need. Excellent facilities and peaceful location if you don't mind the jets. Stayed here to visit the BBMF and watch the Typhoons take off
