Hotels in Stansted

Stansted has no hotels within the village itself — it is a small, one-street parish of well under 500 people, built around a medieval church and a historic pub rather than a tourism trade. Visitors wanting a hotel base should look to Sevenoaks or Maidstone, both around ten to twelve miles away and offering a proper range of options from chain hotels to independent country-house style stays, or to Wrotham and Borough Green, which sit much closer to Stansted at the foot of the Downs and have a small but useful spread of inns and guesthouses.

For a golfing trip, the London Golf Club nearby has its own accommodation offering, while motorsport visitors heading to Brands Hatch will find plenty of hotel choice clustered around the circuit itself, a few miles to the north-east.

Whichever base is chosen, the appeal of staying near Stansted is the same: a quiet, elevated corner of the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, within easy reach of London by road or rail via Borough Green & Wrotham station, but feeling a world away from it once you are up on the ridge.
