With the Rhins of Galloway as a backdrop, Low Glengyre Farm occupies a genuinely spectacular position on a working farm just ten minutes from Stranraer. This tiny site – with fewer than ten pitches – draws nature-loving families and their dogs to a landscape where deer, red squirrels and owls are regular visitors. The glen stretches right to your doorstep, while beaches lie barely five minutes away by road. Dark skies and minimal light pollution make for excellent stargazing on clear nights.
Walkers and cyclists will find endless quiet country lanes and coastal paths to explore, while golfers and anglers have options nearby. The site itself keeps things simple but comfortable: heated showers, laundry facilities and fully serviced pitches with hook-ups. Campfires and barbecues are both allowed, adding to the relaxed, rural atmosphere. It's remote enough to feel properly peaceful, yet close enough to Stranraer for supplies and the occasional meal out.

Fabulous find about 20 mins drive from Stranraer. I don't think you could beat this site at this price. Immaculate toilets & shower. The pitches are all separated from each other by a combination of trees/vegetation and windbreaks. Firepits and barbecues on site and included in the price. Great viees from the site. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. We will be back. NB: The closing time is the latest check in time. Once checked in you're free to come and go as you please.

We absolutely loved our stay and will certainly be returning. The site is stunning, ideally located, and incredibly peaceful. Facilities were kept beautifully clean, and we felt so welcomed by the lovely Jane and Ray, who were incredibly helpful. It was also great to meet such friendly fellow visitors. One small note: we found pitch 4 to be a little different from the website description, as the area beside the hard standing was a bit uneven and overgrown rather than a grassy area capable of sitting or putting a small tent, but this didn't take away from our overall experience.

Absolutely beautiful small campsite with a lovely walk on site. There are two toilets, one shower, two hot water dishwashing sinks and a kettle, bins for your rubbish, and optional electric hookup. The owners are very friendly and will come meet you, they weren't there when I arrived and called, so talked me through letting myself in and which pitches were available to choose from. The site is dog friendly but must be kept on a lead. It's very quiet and peaceful with good phone signal. The attention to detail is lovely and I would definitely stay again! I paid £18 to stay in my van for one night - £12 for me and the van, £3 for each dog, no electric hookup. I thought this was very reasonable and it was easy to book and pay on their website.

A delightful wee campsite offering peace and tranquility. We hadn’t camped in 10 years this was a great re-introduction. Site offered everything we needed, 2 clean toilets, shower and dish washing facility. Jane warmly welcomed us and showed us round. We’ll be back! 👍🏼
