Milton End Farm Barns - The Chaff House

Photo: Milton End Barns

The Chaff House sits within a working dairy farm in a horseshoe bend of the River Severn, where views stretch across the Cotswold Hills and Forest of Dean. This converted barn is one of several on the property, giving you the whole place to yourself. Three bedrooms—a kingsize with ensuite shower, a single, and two singles upstairs—and one bathroom mean there's room for five people comfortably. Downstairs, an open-plan living and dining space has a woodburner, Freeview TV and DVD player; the kitchen is equipped for proper cooking, with electric oven, dishwasher and fridge. A shared washing machine and tumble dryer are available on site.

Essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and WiFi are included; initial logs for the burner come with the booking. Electric underfloor heating is available seasonally for a small additional charge. Two cars can park on the private drive. One well-behaved pet stays free. The grounds include a duck pond and shared courtyard garden with seating; a bike store is also on site. A pub lies within walking distance, while another award-winning inn known for fresh seafood is similarly accessible. The River Severn runs for two miles along the farm with its own walking trails and picnic spots, and the Severn Way is ideal for exploring further afield. The nearby village of Frampton-on-Severn, with the longest village green in England, has two pubs, a shop and a café. No smoking inside the property.

We couldn't thank Katie and our coordinator Rebecca for all their help at Milton End. Our day was perfect from start to finish and we felt looked after through out. The venue fitted what we wanted, a relaxed atmosphere and a place we could have family and friends over the weekend as we had family travelling from Australia and NZ. All the accommodation was clean and well equipped for everyone to be comfortable for a long weekend of celebrating. The venue was incredible and felt like our own space for us all to dance the night away. We wish we could do it all over again as the team at Milton End really looked after us and made the day so special for us. Would highly recommend Milton End to anyone who, like us weren't too sure where to start with planning or worry if we have forgotten something, we felt very looked after through out!

It has been almost a year since we got married at milton end barns. We could not have wished for a better venue. It has everything you need. The ability to have guests on site over the whole wedding weekend was great, the ability to decorate the barns the way you want is amazing and the help that the staff there give you is second to none. Kate, Holly and Rebecca are a great team along with The Bar Bros team as well. We made use of the courtyard on the sunday to be able to have guests back to have some food and a catch up after the big day as well which you dont get at other venues. We went and visited a number of times before getting married as the venue had inspiration days that we took ideas from on how to decorate and how the day could be run. Easily the best venue in gloucestershire in our opinion and we dont think anywhere else would have got close.

What an incredible wedding we had!! We were married at Milton End in June, and had an absolutely fantastic time. During selection of our venue, we found ourselves comparing others to Milton, and always coming back to the uniqueness and value it offered. Everyone says "oh it goes so fast".. well not when you book here. With Friday to Monday to relax enjoy with our nearest and dearest it was just perfect. Plus you get all of the 'hello's' done on the Friday, so there's no list of people to get round on the Saturday, just lots of time to enjoy the celebration. A special thank you to Holly, our wedding planner, who was fantastic. Holly offered valuable and experienced advice throughout the process and kept everything on track. Not to mention the list of things we had left for her to help with on the day that were swept up with ease and took the pressure off of us! Thank you also for taking us to the river for our sunset photos, these are some our favourites in the gallery, and also thank you for all of the snaps and videos you captured and shared with us, it's amazing to have these different points of view of the day. A thank you also to Kate, and the Bar Bros team, who ensured our stay and experience was perfect too. If you are looking for a venue, and don't want your day to fly by in a blink, this is the place for you. (Plus it comes with cute farm animals so what more could you want!!) Thanks to all for making our big day so special, everything exceeded our expectations. (Most pics by Joshua Penrose Photography)

Fantastic wedding there this week! We had the most amazing time. The venue itself is gorgeous, the accommodation is just great. So clean, tidy, and convenient but also beautiful! It was like a mini holiday for our guests. Holly as our wedding planner was brilliant and I felt so calm all day because of her organisation and chilled manner. 100% would recommend. Was just perfect! Emily and James
