About Between Rivers Camping
Tucked behind the Old George Inn in Sykehouse, Between Rivers Camping offers the rare pleasure of proper pub hospitality alongside your pitch. The nearly acre-sized field gives families plenty of space to spread out, with a play area keeping younger campers entertained while you contemplate the menu – guests consistently praise the great-value food served from breakfast through to dinner (ending at 4.30pm Sundays). Hot showers, spotlessly clean facilities and thoughtful touches like phone-charging points when the pub's open add to the comfort.
Sitting right on the coast-to-coast Trans Pennine Trail, it's an ideal overnight stop for long-distance walkers and cyclists, though the peaceful setting and welcoming atmosphere make lingering a few days equally tempting. Dogs are welcome throughout, and pitches range from backpacker-friendly spots to larger grass areas. The cosy yurts with hot tubs offer a touch of luxury if canvas isn't your thing. Campfires and barbecues are allowed, adding to the relaxed, sociable vibe that earns this spot its excellent reputation.

Thankyou so much to all the team at between two river camping its a 5☆☆☆☆☆ from us right across the board the place is a hidden Jem, camper van pitches, tent pitches and the luxury hot tub yurts. Pub, Cafe, Shop WHAT A PLACE!!! 😃 I took my son here for his first proper camp as a bit of a surprise for him after school on Friday the 12th of June 2026 and spent two nights in our Tent this time is now forever echoed in our memories as father and son, he is still smiling now. 😂 He is planing our next trip with you all again, Thankyou soooo much it was so, so peaceful to get out of the busy life style we all have and just to spend some quilty time take note and reset for a couple of Days with him. All the facilities and food we experienced was top notch and all presented to a high standard the staff and owners are incredible people👏👏👏 and are grafters nothing is to much trouble for them, all ways giving that little bit extra, which makes them extraordinary in my opinion. There was plenty for my son to do. We had a camp fires and toasted marshmallows, had our meals out in the Old George and Breakfast in the Cafe WOW! The food is all freshly prepared and was sublime, second to none in all areas 😋 we played card games, read books, my son made friends with other kids on the site he played on the on side park, played hide and seek. Those special times is priceless to all parents he smiled all weekend from ear to ear out in the outdoors and no eyes and head fixated in a screen. Even thou WIFI was available for him 😂 digital detox. So BTRC you have my upmost respect and appreciation Thankyou for all you do with who visit you we will be back 🤙👊 🏕 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #💯%incredibleweekend🫶M&T.

We recently stayed in Yurt 5, the yurt itself was beautifully decorated and clearly a lot of effort has gone into making it feel cosy and well presented — it really is a lovely space. However, a key downside for us was the lack of proper cooking facilities, which was something we were expecting and a big part of why we booked. We raised this with the owners and were offered the option to move yurts the following day, after we had already spent our first night there and settled in. Moving at that stage would also have meant waiting for the hot tub to be emptied, refilled and reheated, as well as the new yurt being prepared after the previous guests had checked out — which wasn’t ideal when we had hoped to simply relax and enjoy our stay. After emailing our complaint, we were provided with a gas BBQ on the final night, but this meant cooking outside in light drizzle, which wasn’t particularly practical. We were also offered a late check-out as a gesture, which was appreciated, but unfortunately we already had plans and couldn’t make use of it. Overall, while the yurt itself was lovely and decorated beautifully, the experience didn’t match what was advertised or expected, particularly given the missing cooking facilities. We feel more could have been done earlier to resolve the issue, and considering the price paid, it did not represent good value for money. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t choose to return.

We stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend, we loved our stay in the yurt and would love to come back again in summer. The facilities are clean and the pub has really nice food. The staff are what make it they are so friendly and welcoming especially John often seen us struggling with something and would be over to help straight away.

The best 2 night stay, with everything thought of by John and Rosie, who were always on hand. Pub and cafe on site serving a great variety of food and drinks to eat in or bring back to the Yurt. February stay where it was wet and maximum 5 degrees but the Yurt was lovely and warm on arrival and stayed this way throughout the weekend. They even left us a little treasure hunt! Would highly recommend!
