About Halfway Caravan and Camping Park
Tucked into open countryside halfway between Tenterden and Bodiam, this family-run site keeps things deliberately simple and low-key. A modest spread of pitches for tents, tourers and motorhomes means you won't find queues for the facilities or weekend entertainment teams – the shower and toilet block covers the essentials without flourish, and there's no on-site shop or bar, so most guests bring provisions or make the short run into Tenterden. Electric hook-ups are available, and dogs are welcome.
The unshowy approach suits couples and older campers looking for peace rather than poolside bustle. Bodiam Castle and the southern terminus of the Kent & East Sussex Railway are close by, Rye's cobbled streets barely fifteen minutes away, and Chapel Down vineyard an easy detour. Some visitors note the facilities can feel a touch tired in places, but for a quiet, no-frills base in the Rother valley it does the job nicely.

What visitors say
My partner and I spent three nights at this site last weekend. We loved the convenient location just north of Yeovil. With enough space for a large tent, car, and an area to sit it was the perfect spot for a long weekend. The facilities are clean and tidy, ideal for a couple or young family. Hot showers, and a kitchen area for washing up. Jess, the host was fabulous, accommodating and helpful - a true superstar. She was on hand throughout our stay to offer tips on where do go, what to see, and where to eat, always with a twist of humour too. The road was moderately loud as it was near a change in speed limit where cars and lorries would accelerate out of the hamlet. Other than that, I can’t fault the site.

Fabulously chilled site, perfect for my little family to run around on the lawn area and have fun together. Shower is very clean as were the toilets and washing up area. There’s a pub next door has a huge outdoor space and a lake so great for evenings in the sun. The site is on the A37 so great for getting around the local area. I must also say a huge thank you to the lady who runs the site that very kindly gave us our missing ingredient for our tea! If we are in the area again I would 100% book here again.

A great time had! The girls running it made it, they were very friendly and helpful, and pulled some strings at the neighbouring pub so we managed to get some food after 8pm! Facilities were clean and a very well run site. We would certainly use again and recommend!

Pitch was on a slope which wasn't great when cooking and with a dodgy handbrake. My son didn't sleep well as he kept leaning to one side. Only two ladies toilets covered in spiders and cobwebs and the doors didn't shut very well, people kept opening the door. A sign would be useful for this. Next to a Main road so very busy and loud. Electric hookup was only 10amp. It was okay just I think at £30-£35 a night is too steep. Wouldn't pay that again but met some lovely campers and they had great washing up facilities
