What visitors say
Just back from 9 nights on touring pitch only originally booked 3 nights but we liked it so much we wanted to stay longer. Site is immaculate including the grounds and facilities, great shower rooms. Staff very helpful and were always busy. Spent many hour's on the trails across the road both on foot and cycling. Local pub was great, we had a lovely meal there and a drink on a few evenings. Hardwick Hall is a must visit and is literally down the road. Will definitely be going back. Thanks for a great stay

Well kept grounds, but cleanliness needs urgent attention We recently returned from a 3-night stay. On the positive side, the site grounds themselves were relatively well-kept. Unfortunately, the facilities let the experience down and are in need of refurbishment and better maintenance. I used the shower blocks with my daughter on Saturday night, Sunday night, and Monday morning, and it was clear they hadn't been cleaned during that time. A specific piece of rubbish in the bin remained there for all three days, and the middle toilet cubicle was out of toilet paper for two consecutive days. With a bit more attention to daily housekeeping, this could be a great site, but the current standard of hygiene was disappointing.

First time campers.. Silverhill camp site was brilliant! As first time campers we had all the unknowns about what to expect as a family of 4 (5&2 years old) But once set up the site was more than accommodating. The shower and toilet facilities are great, very spacious and the family rooms do as they say on the tin, holds a full family. The wash facilities was great as well to get those dirty dishes cleaned up everyday The shop is handy too, got all your bits and bins you may of forgotten and some tent and camping supplies as well. A great little park for he kids, trevoil trail across the road, Easter egg hunt around site and Sherwood pines 20+mins away filled our weekend up just nicely Our stay over the April bank holiday was very windy! And thrown some challenges at us. But we’ve learnt lessons and having a site like Silverhill to start our camping experience made that worthwhile, thank you

Complete newbies at touring, and we survived. Wardens are very welcoming and helpful. The location is a great spot for hiking/ cycling and dog walks. The site is kept very clean and tidy, (showers could do with the broken towel hooks replacing, but thats nothing) We will definitely return. We listened to one google review post about north of silverhill lane (off shepherds lane) being tight, we did everything to avoid it especially when there was local roadworks closures and a TomTom camper sat nav still trying to send us up(departure) and down. Not saying you cant get down with a caravan but we wasn't risking it touring, we have been down plenty of cornwall's back roads in the car.
