For the last 5, nearly 6 years we have been visiting at varying intervals working on both long and short term projects. My daughter has been coming since age 5 and she generally finishes hers quicker than I do mine, but she always her eye set on the next project and often talks it through with Emma or Leanne. Talking of which, Emma and Leanne in particular have become our extended family. I literally would be lost without them. We have attended mandala evenings (even my daughter) and we are soon to attend a highland cow clay workshop. Each workshop has always been worth every penny. We travel to Daisy Doodle from Darlington. We could easily go to pottery studios much closer but we find Daisy Doodles to be the best. The most friendly, welcoming and a lovely selection of both functional and decorative pieces to paint. You have a huge selection of paints freely available on each table, stamps and stencils, brushes, dotting tools and much more. No studio time is wasted waiting around asking busy staff to decant some paint into a tray for you like we have experienced elsewhere. The atmosphere is relaxed and Leanne makes a mean mocha. There’s a variety of little cafes nearby or even better a takeaway next door if you’re attending the late night opening. Highly recommend thinking it about going there for parties or gatherings. Even if you think you cannot paint, you might just surprise yourself. It’s such a lovely place, Easter is celebrated with hand painted bunnies, Remembrance is acknowledged with ceramic poppies, Halloween is acknowledged (if that’s your thing), and Christmas is celebrated with hand painted baubles and plates and all sorts of wonderful things. It truly is a magical little studio, a hidden little gem.

We enjoyed a lovely hour or two here for my sister's hen do yesterday. The lady who showed us upstairs and explained how it all works was so friendly, and took good care of us bringing some fabulous coffees. I would highly recommend!

I've hosted watercolour workshops at Daisy Doodle. They offer a lot of workshops from willow weaving, mandala painting, and silver smithing to potters wheel throwing. Everyone enjoyed their experience here with me. They were organised, friendly and offered drinks throughout the workshop. The studio is bright and airy with ample space for everyone to have a good time. I provided watercolour papers so people could see which suited their style, flowers to paint and a rdngr of watercolours to try. These were artist's quality and student quality. Everyone created a lovely image of a post of wild and garden flowers. Daisy doodle offer bisque blank pots to paint in your own style with themed events. Recently a Harry Potter event and a doggy pawprint painted pot (with dogs paws imprinted onto the pot) have proved to be recent best sellers. Daisy doodle offer lots of workshops, paint your own pots and are always advertising a unique gift experience. Located down Garthway Arcade down from Grovers Toyshop (High Street) and the Applegarth carpark at the other end.
