About The Three Tuns, Thirsk
The Three Tuns occupies a Grade II listed building on Thirsk's Market Place dating from 1698, which became a coaching inn around 1740 before its more recent life as a Wetherspoon pub. The ground floor keeps the chain's familiar formula of all-day food and drink at low prices, served in a building with genuine historic character.
Upstairs, the pub doubles as a straightforward hotel, with rooms bookable through the group's central hotel booking system. It is not a boutique stay, but it offers dependable, no-frills accommodation right on the Market Place, useful for anyone prioritising location and value over extras.
Its position puts guests within a minute's walk of St Mary's Church, the town's independent shops and the Monday market, making it a practical central base for a short stopover in Thirsk.

What guests say
On a very busy Father's Day the staff could not have been more delightful and helpful. It was a hot day but their consistent conscientious attitude and an outstanding manager need flagging up to head office. Thank you for a very enjoyable visit with perfect food. You are excellent.

Came here for a couple of days to coincide with a Thirsk race meeting. A terrific few days. The hotel is in a great location in the middle of town, and as expected great value for money. Rooms were clean, quiet and secure.

Not your typical Wetherspoon, not that busy, but then maybe bday afternoon. Anyway, noticed they have an afternoon deal, so fish and chips is usually £13.72 with beer, just £9.60? So, pint of leffe is almost £5, so less than £5 for the fish and chips? The meal was average, chips and mushy peas was like warm, but fish was freshly cooked, somewhat small, but for the discounted price quite adequate.

I ordered the American Cheese Burger with chips. The burger was tasteless except for the pickle. The chips numbered around 12 and were luke warm. The meal looked terrible As a rule, I dont leave food, today I did !! I was never asked by any staff member if my meal was ok. I will stick to their pizzas which are fine. I wondered why the place was almost empty.
