What diners say
Well this was different, definitely not a modern pub and needs a fair bit of TLC and one side on a tilt. You didn't need a Guinness to feel out of it here! The pub has definitely seem better times, but somehow still seems to hold real old rustic charm. Yes it is dust, creaking and subsidising to left - not that the fish mind. Makes no odds to them or anyone else. And once we got used to, it was kind of quaint. What was suprising was the food. Prepared In tiniest kitchen by one man and his stove. And it was delicious. Home cooked skin on chips, Kebab and wraps done to treat. Really large portions at unbelievable cheap prices. Add to that the best turn at Guinness in town and you will just love.

🚇 Earlsfield 🍺 £6.70 Guinness This pub is located opposite King George’s Park, between Earlsfield and Wandsworth in southwest London. The nearest station is Earlsfield. This pub was originally called The Horse & Groom and was built in the late 19th century. It was rebuilt by Truman’s in the 1930s and renamed Tir Na Nog in 1994. Tír na nÓg, Irish for “Land of Eternal Youth,” refers to a mythical realm where no one ages and time stands still. This pub is traditionally decorated with a warm, cosy, rustic feel. The servery is centrally located and features stained-glass-style panels and old wooden barrels above. The bar area has plenty of seating, including pews and traditional tables and chairs to perch on. The decor comprises a boarded floor, exposed brick walls, an eclectic mix of mirrors, photos and beer signage, all manner of bric-a-brac, a welcoming fireplace and a fish tank in the corner. Just off the main bar is a pool room, and at the rear of the pub is a decked beer garden with huts. The beer selection is all keg and offers a line-up of familiar, well-known brands. As this is an Irish boozer, I had to try the Guinness. My pint was excellent, price point was slightly high. There is no food being served at present, but there are BBQs in the summer. I arrived at 1 p.m. on an overcast Saturday lunchtime in November. The pub was already busy, with the majority of punters in to watch the Ireland v Japan rugby match. The atmosphere was upbeat with a nice local feel; everyone was friendly, so settling in was easy. The service was top drawer—the team member who served me was personable and chatty. I also had a nice chat with the Guv’nor, who has been in the game for many years; top fella. The pub hosts regular live music nights and shows live Premier League and major sporting events. Well, what can I say except: what a boozer. This pub is right up my street — a proper local with a warm atmosphere, friendly punters, excellent Guinness, and top-notch hospitality. An absolute must-visit London pub. Follow @tirnanog_sw18 for updates. 📅 8th November 2025 If you want to see all my pub reviews in one place, head to @londonpubmap on Instagram or Facebook. 🍻

Racists Welcome! Met an 80yo lady (Irish) in Clapham and we get talking. Long story short, she suggets visiting Ireland, that I'd love it and the people will treat me good, saying there'd be no reason not to. Tells me I'm a great person which was lovely of her to say. I realise it's St Patrick's day the next day and make it a point of duty to experience the rich and famous traditions that look cool af on the tv. I enter the place. A bit slow at first but it was cool. A whisky and pint of black to start. Fast forward, im dancing with another 80yo lady, doing the twirls and all sorts. A great time so far. This lady says im a lovely person as well. So sweet of her. Hope she's well. I notice a woman sit next to me and we get talking. Turns out to be the owner. Her daughter is there as well. We're talking and everything is good until I tell her I'm leaving and it was a pleasure to meet her. This woman SNOBS at my hand. I even noticed her daughter give a look like mum, you're showing yourself in public. I know it's her pub and anyone can refuse to shake anyone's hand but how I know for sure that this was racial is the manager saying to me outside, "you're lucky we even served you", with a look that says, "yeah you know what im talking 'bout". I start recording because I wanted to see if he's got the minerals! He didn't. So yeah, that was the craic, that was the story.
