What visitors say
We loved camping here. We stayed in the basic Green bell tent which made set up and leaving easy with plenty of space and a picnic table. Martyn and Anne are warm and friendly hosts with some great tips on local areas to visit. We loved meeting Zeus and Red the Labradors; very friendly and social. Great wash, toilet and showers. A 20 minute walk to get to some great pubs with entertainment. Thanks for a great weekend and we plan to visit again later.

We recently discovered this beauty of a camp site. We spent a weekend camping in a non electric tent pitch. The camping field is huge, plenty of area to have your own space. Views are amazing, owners are lovely and the facilities are very clean and tidy. The little hut serves drinks and bacon/sausage butties every morning at a fair price. Our only issue is the owners dogs roam and like the steal your food if left out! The younger one also likes to wee on your things and if your dog is doesn't like other dogs it can become a bit of a fight as we learnt! However, as soon as we informed the owners they had him straight on a lead or took him back home. (you have to remember it is the dogs home) It would not put us off camping here again. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will come again :)

Absolutely loved our stay here. The grounds are immaculate and the views were amazing. The owners were so nice, and they made me the best bacon butty I have ever had in my life. Also a fantastic brewpub in walking distance. Will definitely be back here.

Scar Close Camping is a truly wonderful find. The location is stunning with magnificent views, and the whole atmosphere is so relaxed. Anne and Martin are incredibly friendly and accommodating, which makes the stay even more enjoyable. We camped in our own tent and loved being able to choose our pitch from the vast camping area. There are no electric hook-ups, but they offer helpful alternatives such as freezing ice packs, access to a fridge, and a socket for charging phones. The bathroom facilities are excellent, honestly the best we’ve ever experienced on a campsite. Our only small suggestion would be to provide hand soap in each bathroom and at the main sink, or to remind visitors to bring their own. The resident farm dogs, Red and Zeus, are very lively and inquisitive. Our boys enjoyed playing with them but if you’re not a dog-lover it might feel a little trickier, and you do need to keep food stored securely as they’ll happily help themselves if given half a chance! The glamping teepees and holiday cottages also looked fantastic. All in all, Scar Close is an idyllic place to relax and unwind. We very much hope to return in the future!
