What visitors say
Isolated country Inn in spectacular location on the crest of the Blackdown Hills. Prices for B&B are very reasonable and good value for money. Be aware that the hotel receptionist goes home at 5pm, so it's best to check in before then as the bar staff have little idea regarding the hotel side of things. Also, all rooms have baths, not showers as the water comes from a borehole and the water pressure is low. Views from the garden and kids play area are spectacular. There are dining pods outside too. Food is ok and served all day. Not freshly prepared, but then the service would not be so quick and they would not be able to cater for so many. Real ales on tap. There is an adults only campsite too. All routes to the inn require a significant uphill drive on some challenging country roads, but I think that adds to the charm! PS They have a message chair! Never seen one before in a country Inn. It was just the thing for my bad back. I spent 45 minutes in it!

Imagine a place that is quite cheap to pitch your tent - even as a teacher in the summer holidays. Then; as hard as this seems, imagine having a place on the edge of the Exmoor National Park and within 30 minutes of Minehead and probably even Taunton. Wait then imagine having access to great food and a lovely pint of Italian beer. At this point you get close to the incredible curiosity that is this Inn. There are plenty of toilets and with showers so powerful I looked 10 years younger. It’s no joke this was one of the most interesting places I have camped on my tour of the South West during the summer holidays. On entry I had a gentleman on a quad directing me to a pitch who was radioed from reception. Anyway I’m actually excited to have a breakfast tomorrow morning. Please give it a go.

My sisters and I meet here every year, on our way to our annual holiday in Watchet. It's a beautiful place and the food and service is first class. The Garlic Mushrooms on Toast is FANTASTIC - best I've ever had. NEVER take that off your menu ! It's a dog friendly Pub with loads of outside covered seating too. Thank you to all the staff - you offer an excellent service.

We stopped here for a Sunday carvery lunch which was excellent. The pub itself is on Exmoor and not in a town or village but in beautiful countryside. It has a large free car park with a huge garden and inside is nicely designed and has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The food was excellent, lots of meat choices and help-yourself from the great selection of vegetables, Yorkshire puddings, gravy and sauces. Great choice of puddings but we were all too full to eat one.
