Hotel choice directly in Welland is very limited, since this is a village of around 1,200 people built around a crossroads rather than a tourist centre. Most visitors looking for a hotel base themselves a short drive away in Malvern, Ledbury or Upton-upon-Severn, all of which offer a range of options from traditional coaching inns to smaller independent hotels, and all sit within about six to ten miles of Welland. Staying in one of these towns gives easy access not just to Welland and Castlemorton Common but to the whole southern stretch of the Malvern Hills, including British Camp and Herefordshire Beacon.
For something closer to the village itself, farmhouse bed and breakfasts and small guesthouses are dotted through the surrounding parishes, often run from working farms with views straight onto the hills. These tend to be a better fit for Welland's quiet, rural character than a large hotel, and many owners are happy to point guests towards walking routes on the common or up onto the ridge. Booking ahead is sensible around the last weekend of July, when the Welland Steam Rally fills much of the local accommodation for miles around.
