Stay by the River lives up to its name: this adults-only retreat sits directly on the banks of the River Roden in North Shropshire's lush countryside, where you can literally fish for trout from your pitch. The single luxury bell tent comes fully equipped with a kingsize bed, quality linen, log burner, and thoughtful extras like fresh flowers and slippers on the carpeted floor. A wooden cabin on the decking houses a composting toilet and hot shower, while outside you'll find a barbecue area and the real showpiece – a wood-fired hot tub for two.
No children, no dogs, just birdsong and the gentle flow of the river. It's gloriously peaceful, though with just one pitch this is understandably one of Shropshire's hardest places to book. When you do fancy venturing beyond your riverside cocoon, the market town of Wem lies 10 minutes away for pubs and provisions, while Whitchurch (20 minutes) offers more dining options.

What a lovely campsite! Well maintained and the owner are really friendly. Showers and toilet were clean and working well. We were only there for one night but will certainly be back if we need to be in the surrounding area again.

Superb spot for camping, fantastic hosts, couldn't have asked for a better service. The animals are great for little'ns to not be bored and plenty of treats provided for us to give them. Definitely coming back!

What a gem of a place peaceful quiet and in a lovely part of the world all of the team was really helpful andwe felt like we were old friends come to visit we had some eggs and bacon which was buitifull, the site was immaculate spotless toilet and shower you can see a lot of money has been spent on the place ,I shouldn't be giving it a good review because I want to keep it to my self ,thanks for a lovely stay we will be back very soon thank Ian Karen and Flo
