The staff are usually nice, and the screens are big and sound is good however, in my opinion, the tickets are extremely overpriced and not very justifiable. The seats are quite uncomfortable, and the price doesn't get you anything more than just an average cinema experience. It's around £20 a person, barely including popcorn and drinks, and with the cheapest seats too. Personally, I only visit this cinema as it's closest to me and I'm sure others can relate. To improve, I would love for the Odeon to be a bit more special, like with maybe some fancier seats (especially if you pay for premium) or they could lower the prices a bit. I understand that it's hard to run a cinema, but Movie Starr in Canvey is a wonderful cinema and for me it offers the exact same as the Odeon does, only £15 cheaper.

I took my children to see The Mandalorian and Grogu on Sunday (31/5/26) and was really impressed that they had someone walking in the cinema as The Mandalorian as the films credits rolled! This made my son's day as he met his hero! It was a great touch that added to his experience. He was buzzing about it all the way home and into the evening. Great job.

Have lived in Southend and visited this cinema since it opened, have lots of fond memories. The screen, lighting, sound and premium seats are still great but as an experience with my family it was not pleasant due to the state of the place- especially the women’s toilets. Only one was usable, most were out of order and the one that we used was covered in dust. It’s all looking very ‘tired’ and dirty in there compared to other cinemas we have been to in other towns and cities. Don’t like to moan, but why do we have to put up with this in Southend?

I am currently 3 months into a year long term offer I had for Odeon MyLimitless that brought the price down to £139 a year. I am getting good value for money with the films I am seeing. However, based on the experience here I won’t be continuing say for following years at the increased cost of either £16.99 a month or £19.99 a month. The reasons being is firstly the lift to all the floors is now permanently out of action with no sign of it being fixed or replaced. The Cinema is filthy dirty with no sign of it ever being cleaned properly or the seats ever replaced. Then there is out right rudeness from Southend locals younger and older waving their phone torches around after the film has started trying to find their seats and aggressively throwing people out of seats. Or even making out there are issues when there aren’t any. The Catering at this Cinema is expensive and nothing they offer is either nutritious or good value for money either. Would I recommend this Cinema to anyone in the future as things are now? No!
