Lavender Cottage

Lavender Cottage dates to the 1700s and retains the character you'd expect from a period Lakeland building—flagged floors, exposed oak beams, and a wood burner in the living room. The cottage is detached, set on two acres with woodland and views toward the South Lake District hills. It's a 15-minute drive from Bowness and close to Kendal itself. The décor balances the building's age with modern comfort and quality furnishings.

The layout spreads across two floors. Downstairs holds the living room with Freesat, a separate dining room, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—electric oven and hob, dishwasher, and the rest. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one double (4ft 6in) and one with two single beds (3ft each), served by a bathroom with bath and shower. Heating is oil central; electricity, wi-fi, bed linen, towels and initial wood-burner fuel are all included. Parking for three cars sits on the property.

The back garden has a patio, sitting-out area and furniture. One dog stays free. The cottage does not suit children under 12, and there are three garden steps plus a pond beyond the boundary to be aware of. A pub lies within a mile, while Kendal offers independent shops, cafés and restaurants, and Lake Windermere with its steamers and villages is nearby for days out.
