Uplands Cottages Certificated Location

What a wonderful place in lovely surroundings. The cottage was really well looked after and has enough rooms for everyone and has a hot tub that was definitely used and a communal pool which made the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend it to everyone who needs a quiet escape and to relax

Great site for caravan, well positioned for the mendips and north Somerset. Good value to stay but as with most certified location sites it is just a large spacious field with some electric hook ups, water and waste disposal point. No views from the field itself but plenty within a very short walk from the site. Just heed reviews that toilets / shower (2 in total) are a 5 min walk from the caravan field (they are next to the swimming pool) so not so great if you don't have a fully contained caravan. Previous reviews and site plan say toilets coming soon to the caravan field but these are five years old at least and clearly nothing actually happening in that regard. The fact that there is use of the nice swimming pool was a huge bonus, especially as it was very hot when we visited.

We stayed at Uplands Cottages for a few nights and had a brilliant time. The setting is absolutely stunning—peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by beautiful countryside. It really felt like a proper escape from the hustle and bustle. The cottage itself was spotless and really well equipped with everything we needed, including a comfortable bed, good kitchen facilities, and a lovely little outside space. We especially loved the swimming pool and games room—it kept both the adults and our little one entertained, even on a rainy day! The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches like a little welcome pack when we arrived. It was also great having Winscombe village just down the road with shops and a great bakery. Would highly recommend Uplands Cottages to anyone looking for a relaxing break in Somerset, especially for families. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Uplands ended up being a great last minute find for us. Unfortunately we had left Devon mid-break as our dog was admitted to Langford Veterinary Hospital and so we needed somewhere close by to be with him. Uplands (James) got in touch after they had a last minute cancellation and were were able to spend 4 days there in Patch Cottage. It had everything we needed for such an emergency and was great value. I was surprised by the quality of the kitchen and equipment for a 1-bedroom cottage in this price bracket. We have no problem highly recommending the site and if we're ever back in the area under better circumstances we'd try out one of the bigger cottages as the site is nicely located just outside Winscombe.
