About Elgar's Shepherd's Huts

Named after composer Edward Elgar, born just five minutes away in Lower Broadheath, this intimate glamping spot offers two south-facing shepherd's huts – Nimrod and Enigma – with sweeping views towards the Malvern Hills. The location strikes a pleasing balance: genuinely rural Worcestershire countryside, yet only a few miles from Worcester city centre and a 20-minute walk from the nearest pub. Motorsports fans can reach Shelsley Walsh Speed Hill Climb in 15 minutes, while walkers have the outstanding Malvern Hills on their doorstep.

Each hut sleeps two adults (plus an infant and one dog if needed) and comes tastefully kitted out with a double bed, ensuite shower room, and a well-equipped kitchen featuring butler sink, two hobs, fridge and a welcome supply of tea and coffee. The gated decking area includes a firepit-barbecue and bistro table – solar-powered lights make it a romantic spot for alfresco suppers after dark. What a wonderful discovery, the Shepherds Retreat is, one of two Shepherds Hut’s and a small log cabin owned and operated by Ockeridge Rural Retreats. I stumbled across the website and liked what I saw so booked a short break. On arrival, we was greeted by Tiffany who showed us around and told us about the surrounding area. Everything the website promised was delivered, can’t fault it. Wonderful views, walks, peaceful site and comfortable in the well thought out cabin. My only regret was coming back home. Would definitely stay here again.
