What guests say
If you're taking the great unwashed to The Manor, don't expect the à la carte menu to have them swooning into their napkins. Thankfully, salvation arrived courtesy of the roasted tomato soup from the specials board and a sticky toffee pudding so good it should probably have its own fan club. The menu though, doesn’t come cheap. For my main event, I opted for the Sunday roast. The beef arrived in slices so thick and tender that cutting them almost felt disrespectful. The jus was gloriously rich and, in hindsight, I really shouldn't have poured on the extra gravy that came with the roast potatoes. The dish absolutely didn't need it, and judging by the state of the dog afterwards, neither did he. 🙈 The staff deserve a special mention for being wonderfully friendly and accommodating, particularly when we turned up before check-in time without realising and accompanied by a four-legged guest. They couldn't have been more welcoming and kindly escorted us to our room, which was delightful, spotless and wonderfully comfortable. Now, The Manor is very much a hidden gem. In fact, it's so far out in the sticks that your sat nav starts questioning your life choices. But once you find it and settle on the terrace with a drink in hand, you're rewarded with some truly spectacular views. We only stayed for one night, so we didn't explore much of the village, but we did visit the ruins of the original 12th century Norman church, which is still used for occasional services. Tiny, atmospheric and wonderfully peaceful, it felt like stepping straight back into medieval times. The thickness of the stone walls alone was enough to make modern builders weep. One thing worth knowing about this charming corner of the world is that very little opens on Sundays, Mondays or Tuesdays. However, that somehow adds to the appeal. The pub itself closed at 7pm on Sunday evening, but after several hours basking on the terrace in the sunshine and enjoying a few drinks, the prospect of a cosy bed felt less like an accommodation feature and more like destiny. It’s definitely somewhere we’d return to and would heartily recommend.

What a fantastic start to our honeymoon, which was booked last minute after an injury prevented us from our abroad plans! The inn is gorgeous with the most beautiful terrace! The nightlight of our stay, however was the wonderful staff, closely followed by the exceptional food - we were looked after so well by the team who couldn't do enough for us for our special occasion. We felt almost like family and you are all a credit to the inn! I recommend to stay - but also just go for a fabulous dinner - you will not be disappointed!

The Manor hosted the celebrations for our mom s 80th Birthday. The staff team were welcoming and friendly , the food was delicious - everyone ( 21 of us ) enjoyed it - and the rooms were comfortable and clean with wonderful views of the countryside. Ideal setting for country walks. Thank you to the whole of the staff team with a special thanks to Tiff.

Lovely food, great flavours and presentation. Great and attentive service. Nice views, there is a room with a garden view that we selected on booking, but we're seated in the main pub area. When the suns out thetes plenty of seating outside with fantastic views.
