About Kingfisher Escapes
Keep holidays on the cosy side with this smart shepherd's hut just outside Chirk. With a sizeable wooden terrace looking out over a huge grassy field, Kingfisher Escapes is the kind of place geared towards guests looking to totally switch off for a spell. The gorgeous River Ceiriog – which also serves as the border between England and Wales – runs along the eastern side of this north Wales site, making the area a hub for wildlife. You might, with a bit of luck, even spot a quick glimpse of the site's brilliant blue namesake bird.
Inside, the self-contained hut has a comfy double bed and a fully-equipped kitchen with a proper oven, hob, kettle and toaster. There's indoor and outdoor furniture, plus a well-presented wet room with toilet and shower. An electric woodburner-style heater keeps things warm on wintery nights, while a complimentary welcome pack includes croissants, jams, tea and coffee.
There's plenty to explore nearby: 13th-century Chirk Castle is five minutes' drive, Llangollen on the River Dee is 20 minutes away, and the old Roman city of Chester just 30 minutes. Chirk itself has good food shops, pubs and cafés to keep you fed and watered.

What an amazing place! Beautiful spot to stay really enjoyed it,very relaxing weekend . Lovely hut with kitchen, shower and wood fired hottub. Isolated spot in large tree lined field with river running alongside. Big thanks to the owners for great service and a real care for their guests.
