GreenWood Tipi Glamping

Amazing place to stay after a long day enjoying the park. Staff were as amazing and friendly as the last time we came. Secure car park. The glamping tents were cosy, beds were comfy and enjoyed lighting the fire each morning and before bed. Private bbq area at the side of your pitch to make hot chocolate. Incredible views of snowdonia and sheep/alpacas sleeping in viewing distance. The only issue we personally found was the kitchen wad tiny, we felt cramped with one other group there so we couldn't imagine it full with a possible 32 people on site. The toilets were clean but sadly depends who's staying at the same time to how long that lasts as some people don't like wiping seats 😕 Thanks for our stay!

Overall we had a good time at Greenwood, as others have mentioned the tipis are spacious and the beds comfy, but we encountered a few issues which kept it from being perfect for us. Firstly, when we visited at the end of the season the little log burner in the tent was much too small to heat the space properly in a 6-person tipi. We had it lit whenever we were in the tent and well into the night and it didn't make much difference to the temperature. Related to this everything inside was noticeably damp, including bedding and after a while our clothes. Secondly, there's very little storage space, which is inconvenient for stays of more than a day or two. As we were visiting with a dog having some shelving out of nose height to put fruit etc on would have been useful - the kitchenette has fridges but no real storage for non-chilled food. Thirdly, light was a problem. The fairy lights are too dim to make any real difference to the light levels in the tent. We were provided with three rechargeable lanterns which we diligently rotated in and out of the charging cabinet but even they didn't do very much, with five of us staying there weren't enough for everyone to use one for reading in the evening. Some sort of large central light or some lamps by the beds would have made a huge difference in the evenings. It would also be great to have some natural light in the day - with the door closed against the weather it was gloomy inside even in the middle of the day, one or two window panels would be a huge improvement. Finally, if you're visiting at colder times of year you will probably want to plan to eat out because the BBQ area is uncovered, and the kitchenette only has a microwave and toaster. There are plenty of restaurants in the area, but nothing in walking distance after the park closes at 5. Overall the tent was good, the site was pleasant and quiet with beautiful views over Snowdonia, and the location is hard to fault, but there were a few details that weren't quite right for us.

We’ve just got back from a 4 night stay as a family of 6 (4kids) and would be more than happy to return. Check in was straight forward, we received the email with everything we needed to do when we got there. Wheelbarrows and trolleys are provided in the car park to help transport your luggage to the tipi. When you get in your tipi you are provided with a hamper that contains mugs, plates, bowls, cutlery, tea, coffee so you don’t need to take any with you. The couple who look after the site were very helpful and informative. They provided us with bbq utensils and extra blankets on request. The beds are really comfortable, good quality pillows and duvets. We all had a great night sleep. The tipi gets a little chilly in the night, even in warm weather so we would recommend having the fire on for at least an hour before bedtime. Some logs were provided on arrival and the fire was all set up ready to light, which was a nice touch. Each tipi has its own picnic bench and two comfy chairs inside the tipi but we would recommend bringing some camping chairs if there’s more than two people. The facilities (toilets, showers and kitchenette) were very clean and well stocked. The lockers with charging sockets were very helpful. The kitchenette contains two fridges, kettle, microwave and toaster. There are also some microwave safe bowls in the cupboard. Washing up liquid and sponge provided, but bring your own kitchen towels. The bbq area has one bbq per tipi. We carried our picnic bench to the bbq area when needed to save us going back and forth to the tipi. The free entrance to the park is a huge bonus and what made us book this place. You also get to access it on arrival and departure days, which we didn’t know. The tipis are really close to the park. The kids loved it, although they could have benefited from a larger open space to play on in the evenings. Open public wifi provided on site. Overall, a great holiday had by all and would highly recommend.

A great setup. Wheelbarrows provided for loading and unloading from the carpark! Tipis are very comfortable with warm duvets. Cutlery provided and there are 2 fridges in the communal kitchenette where there are also small lockers with a plug socket and USB ports for charging devices. The shower and toilet facilities are fantastic, clean, and have lots of hot water. There are 6 barbecues for use, with staff able to provide barbecue utensils. So, just bring some charcoal! The tipis also have a wood burning stove already set up with some kindling, firelighters and some wood, perfect for adding some warmth prior to bedtime. A pair of tongs for adding wood would be useful though. The free entry to the very popular Greenwood family park was well used. A very lovely stay.
