Council-run seafront caravan and camping park in Stonehaven, 15 miles south of Aberdeen

About Queen Elizabeth Park

Queen Elizabeth Park is a council-run caravan and camping site on Stonehaven's southern edge, handily placed for the town's heated outdoor pool, harbour and beaches. The setting is practical rather than pretty – pitches are open and fairly exposed to the elements, so come prepared with sturdy pegs and windbreaks – but the location delivers where it counts. You're within easy walking distance of Stonehaven's famously good fish and chip shops, and the dramatic clifftop ruins of Dunnottar Castle are just a short drive or coastal walk away.

Facilities are no-frills but adequate: electric hook-ups on touring pitches, a standard shower and toilet block, and plenty of dog-walking territory along the seafront path. Regular trains and buses into Aberdeen make day trips straightforward without moving the outfit. The site suits families drawn by the pool and beach, tourers heading up or down the Aberdeenshire coast, and anyone wanting a functional, affordable base for exploring this stretch of Scotland's northeast.

Great touring site. Good well maintained pitches and spotless facilities. Staff are very friendly, professional and helpful. Ideal location close to sea front with cafés fish and chips etc. Short walk into Stonehaven which is a typical seaside town but it does have a land train which is definitely worth going on. One of the stops is the campsite so it's easy to use. Would definitely recommend this site, excellent.

We both loved this campsite. The welcome we received was so friendly. The facilities were really clean. 3 minutes walk from it is the beach, fish and chip shop. You get a discount from that if you show them the key from the campsite. We will definitely be returning.

Warning do not arrive before 1pm…… We got greeted by member of staff with let’s say -an attitude. We did arrive just before 1pm. There was already 1 in the queue that had not been turned away so thought it ok to wait That was not the case. If arriving early is an issue then as soon as anyone arrives before 1pm they should be asked to return and not allow them to wait 10 mins then come out to hand a typed statement about arriving early He wasn’t happy when I said I didn’t need to be told like that….his response was that I should have stayed in the car park and he was reporting me to the club, said with a very arrogant attitude We left immediately and will never return. I will when the office opens call the club
