West Kilblean Cottage

West Kilblean Cottage is a single-storey detached property built from stone, set on a working farm in rural Aberdeenshire. Everything is on the ground floor: a living and dining room with Freeview Smart TV and wood burner, a kitchen with electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine, a bedroom with a kingsize bed, and a shower room. The cottage sleeps two and comes with electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included; logs for the burner are provided too.

Outside there is a lawned garden with patio seating, a barbecue, and a bike store. You get private parking for two cars, and can explore shared farm walks on the owner's land. The nearest town is Old Meldrum, a mile and a half away, which has shops, a pub and restaurant. Bennachie—a local hill popular for walking—is 10 miles distant, with views across Aberdeenshire to the Cairngorms. The coast is within reach: Newburgh's seal beach is 11 miles away, and Balmedie has 14 miles of sand dunes with picnic areas and play facilities. Inland attractions include Pitmedden Garden and its farming museum, plus Tolquhon Castle and Haddo House. The cottage runs on a private spring water supply. Smoking is not permitted, and one well-behaved dog is welcome.
