Cakes and Ale is a spacious holiday park set among mature woodland and open glades near Saxmundham, close to the villages of Rendham and Kelsale-cum-Carlton, about eight miles from Aldeburgh. Long established as a family-friendly base for exploring the Suffolk coast, it combines touring and camping pitches with static caravans and glamping accommodation spread across a wooded estate, giving many pitches a good deal of natural screening and shade.
On-site facilities are geared towards longer family stays, with an indoor swimming pool and leisure complex, a shop, a play area and well-maintained shower and toilet blocks. Electric hookups are available across most of the touring area, and the park's rural setting means it works equally well as a quiet base for walkers heading into the Suffolk Sandlings or as a family holiday destination in its own right, with children's activities running through the main summer season.
The park's location just off the A12 makes it a convenient base for day trips to Aldeburgh, Snape Maltings, Thorpeness and the RSPB reserve at Minsmere, while still feeling tucked away from the main road once inside the wooded grounds. Dogs are welcome in designated areas, and the mix of pitch types means it suits everything from a simple tent holiday to a more comfortable static or glamping break.
