About The Uplands Hotel
The Uplands occupies a handsome Georgian house a short walk back from the High Street, with a garden that gives it a quieter, more residential feel than the hotels directly on the seafront. Bedrooms are traditionally furnished, and several look out over the garden or surrounding rooftops towards the sea.
Its restaurant and bar serve a menu built around Suffolk ingredients, and the hotel's slightly set-back position makes it a good choice for guests who want peace and quiet in the evenings while still being within easy walking distance of the beach and shops.
The relaxed, homely atmosphere and manageable size make it a popular choice for couples and small groups visiting for the Aldeburgh Festival or a quiet weekend away.

What guests say
Had Easter roast dinner here with our family of 6. Speedy and attentive service. Lamb was on offer and all was cooked beautifully. Very tasty veg. I want the cauliflower cheese recipe! We were sat by the window with beautiful views. Very pleased we picked this location for our special meal!

Didn’t stay here so don’t know much about the rooms. We went for a meal after our registry office wedding. The staff were wonderful, as usual, and the food was lovely, even accommodating the more fussy eaters amongst us. The setting was perfect for pictures - only the weather let us down. Thanks to Sue and the team for helping to make our big day special! Jill & Dave

Had yet another Smasher of a long weekend here. A friends 50th so 10 of us in Total. Great rooms and service and wo derful food from Sue. Allun even managed to get a fantastic band put on at short notice to marks the occasion. Dylan and the rest of team kept the drinks flowing. The views days out to surrounding villages were wonderful. Albeit we was lucky with the weather!. Pet friendly too so we took our lobby who was joined by a couple of pouches already there. See you all again soon Amani , Amilia , Nev and Bebee of course..

Lovely pub with stunning views from the beer garden. Staff and locals made us feel very welcome. It was Bingo night, which was good fun, but meant the menu was limited. The chicken in the basket and pizza were excellent though. Would definitely come again.
