Three nights camping with a warm welcome received upon arrival from the owners, choice of grassed pitch, some with electric hook-up & we paid the next day, no rush at all. Great location for walking to Grange & Cartmel with nice hotel/pub, nearby a few minutes walk away open to non-residents for food/real ale. Clean toilet/shower block & good sunset views plus towards the sea. A lovely, well kept, quiet site.

A quiet location out of town with lovely views across the hills and even a glimpse of the sea. All the necessary facilities except for a motorhome drain area. Very quiet in the evening with some great sunsets. Walking distance to Cartmel and Grange-Over-Sands. Hotel across the road serving food & drink to non-residents but were fully booked when we enquired. Good value for money.

A lovely, quaint site, aside a hilltop with lovely views and simple but clean facilities. Easy walking distance down a quite steep hill to Cartmel. However there was some confusion around our booking, I had reserved the slot online and when we arrived my wife checked in. After leaving the next morning we got an incredibly hostile email from the owner “Good Morning Very disappointed with you ,Having stayed on our site last night Thursday21st August, You then get up and depart this morning WITH OUT- PAYING for your overnight stay. We do have your details so please do the correct thing and either come back and pay or send a cheque HIGHFELL GATE” I replied that this had been an error. That my wife assumed I had paid on booking, and I assumed she had paid on check in. Which she was not asked to do. I asked for the owners sort code and account number to make payment. He again came back with a ridiculously hostile email accusing us of lying, and saying that my wife had said she would come back down to pay. A conversation which never took place, with his payment details attached. A simple polite email was all that required to rectify what was a genuine oversight. He has been paid in full!

Great little farm campsite. Very friendly owners. Facilities on the basic side but very clean. Views amazing from every pitch.
