Vine Cottage
Amber Valley
Whatstandwell sits in the Derwent Valley on the southern edge of the Peak District National Park, between Matlock and Belper. Built around 1900, Vine Cottage is a mid-terrace property with direct access to countryside walking routes and positioned near the Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO World Heritage Site. The village itself is quiet, though a pub lies within a mile and Matlock's shops and restaurants are nearby.
The cottage spreads across three floors. Downstairs holds a living room with a woodburner and freeview television, plus a kitchen and dining space with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washer-dryer. Upstairs are two bedrooms—one double, one single—and a bathroom with bath and shower. A third double bedroom with ensuite toilet sits on the top floor. The property sleeps five. An enclosed back garden with seating opens onto fields beyond. Note that there are steps at the front entrance and within the garden.
Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included, along with initial fuel for the woodburner. One well-behaved pet stays free. The cottage is yours alone—no shared access—and smoking is not permitted inside.
