About Bryn Awelon
Bryn Awelon is a family-run bed and breakfast a few minutes' drive from the fishing village of Moelfre, on the east coast of Anglesey. It is a modest, genuinely small operation rather than a hotel — the sort of place where the owners cook your breakfast and tell you where to walk — and it has built a strong reputation on that basis. The name means roughly 'hill of breezes', which the position bears out.
Guest rooms are en suite and have been redecorated in recent years. All of them look out to sea, and each has a television, tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer and good towels. Breakfast is served in an oak-beamed dining room between eight and nine, with an earlier sitting available if you give notice the night before; the spread runs from a full Welsh cooked plate through to lighter options. There is ample off-road parking, which is useful on this stretch of coast where village parking is tight in summer. The owners also let holiday cottages on the same site, so longer, self-catering stays are possible.
The east coast is the gentler side of Anglesey. Lligwy Beach, a wide sandy bay with a beach café, is close by, and Traeth yr Ora next door is quieter still. Moelfre has a seawatch centre, a lifeboat station with a long history, and the Kinmel Arms for an evening meal. The Anglesey Coastal Path runs along the cliffs in both directions and makes for easy day walks, with Din Lligwy's Iron Age settlement and the Lligwy burial chamber just inland.
Bryn Awelon suits walkers, birdwatchers and couples who want a straightforward, well-kept base with a sea view and a good breakfast, at a price well below the island's hotels.

Just had the pleasure of spending a lovely week at Bryn Awelon with my wife. Bryn Awelon is probably one of the best b&b's we have stayed at. Beautiful views, lovely breakfasts complemented by excellent hosts in Mary and Gary who we got on famously with, a lovely couple. If ever we go back to Anglesey this will be where will stay. Highly recommended.

We were made really welcome by Mary and Gary, such a lovely couple. The B&B is in a really lovely setting, with sea views, lovely walks, just a beautiful location. It was so clean, comfortable and homely with an excellent breakfast choice cooked to perfection. Will be recommending to all family and friends and looking forward to booking up next year. Carol and Chris.
