About Ty Dderw Country Inn

Ty Dderw sits right in the heart of Moelfre, making it the most conveniently placed inn for anyone who wants to walk to the harbour, the coastal path or the village's pub and chip shop without needing a car. The eleven en-suite rooms are simply but comfortably furnished, with several looking out over the sea or towards the hills inland, and there is a separate three-bedroom chalet on site for larger groups.

The inn's bar and dining room serve straightforward pub food through the week, and it operates as a genuine local as well as a place to stay, which gives it a friendlier, less polished feel than the hotels further afield. Discounts are available for longer stays, and the location makes it easy to leave the car for days at a time.

Traeth Lligwy beach is a short walk away, and the Anglesey Coastal Path passes close by, making Ty Dderw a practical, unfussy base for a walking or beach-focused stay in Moelfre itself.

What an amazing place. We have stayed here for a family reunion & celebration this weekend and the venue could. It have been any better. That staff (including the booking agents) were fantastic throughout the process and could not have been more helpful. Whilst onsite the whole team gave a lovely warm welcoming family vibe. The food for the party (lasagne) was delicious (Taid’s recipe) was fantastic and the team were accommodating with our late nights! Cannot recommend this place enough. ❤️

We visited for Sunday lunch and were absolutely delighted with the experience. The food was delicious, freshly prepared, and served in generous portions that left us more than satisfied. The service was excellent - friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. The pub itself is set in a beautiful location, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a hearty meal. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food in a lovely setting, and we'll definitely be visiting again soon.

From check-in to check-out, everything was perfect. The instructions provided were very clear, making the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Nothing was too much trouble, and Sue and her team have done an exceptional job transforming this place. The breakfast was excellent, with the choice of either a continental selection or a full cooked breakfast. Both were delicious, freshly prepared, and served piping hot. We also opted for an evening meal on Saturday when we returned, and if you get the opportunity to try the menu, you certainly won't be disappointed. The food was exceptionally tasty and remained hot right to the last bite. We would definitely recommend staying here and will certainly be returning ourselves. A fantastic stay from start to finish. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Disappointing stay We recently stayed at this hotel for four nights. When we arrived, the room was clean, but very small, felt like we'd been squished into a single room, towels for one person only and 4 clothes hangers for 2 adults sharing. Location was great for getting around and exploring the area. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which we really appreciated. That said, the overall experience didn’t quite match the price. The room was missing some basic things like a fridge, dressing table and storage. The biggest issue was housekeeping. Even though the room was clean on arrival it wasn’t serviced at all during our four-night stay. For the price and length of stay, we would’ve expected at least one proper clean and fresh bedding. The rooms also feel a bit dated and could definitely use some updating. Storage was another downside. A shelf or small dressing table would’ve helped a lot, as there really wasn’t much space to unpack or store luggage, which made things a bit awkward. It was also a bit frustrating to find out that food isn’t available on certain days, and this wasn’t made clear when booking. With not many shops nearby, it would’ve been good to know this in advance so we could plan better. Overall, we left a bit disappointed. The hotel has a lot of potential because the location is excellent and the staff are genuinely lovely, but the service and facilities don’t really match the price. Improvements in housekeeping, clearer info about food availability, updated rooms, better storage, and a few extra in-room basics would make a big difference. We do wish the team all the best and hope the feedback helps.
