An amazing castle hotel. Incredible architecture inside and out. Beautiful grounds alongside the Menai straight. Our room was gorgeous. Breakfast was wonderful. The sitting rooms including the music room, were just enchanting. Staff was super warm and helpful, especially the front desk girl and the very young bartender. lol Parking can be a challenge, but is well worth it. Definitely would return for a longer stay.

Just want to be completely honest and hope that the management read this because it's important to give constructive feedback. As a family we stayed in the Coach House. First impressions were good although the severe lack of parking was a problem, when you consider we were paying in excess of £430/night! The good points...Beds were comfortable and views from the main 'King' bedroom were spectacular, aside from the scaffolding. The bad points...Ridiculous wardrobes, basically a rail with a few broken hangers, looks like they were salvaged from a local tip! Really poor kitchen facilities, the lower oven didn't appear to work, there was a lack of a dishwasher and the washing machine was utterly disgustingly filthy, the dryer simply failed to dry anything. In the main bedroom en-suite, the shower was coming away from the wall and the toilet-roll dispenser was hanging on by a thread. The lounge had a beautiful baby grand piano (one of the reasons we chose the six berth option over the four berth) but it was totally defunct, many keys didn't work and very out of tune, disappointing. The sofas in the lounge were very tired, seated and very uncomfortable. The whole place was filled with random, shabby-chic furniture which served no purpose and appeared to be an after thought. The breakfast was hit and miss, sometimes you got bacon, other times not, there was no sourdough to toast and the continental 'breakfast' was very limited to chopped melon, yoghurt and tiny pastries, no continental cheeses or cured meats. The attention to the breakfast service was also lacking, we had to wait on several occasions for glasses, bread and pastries to be replenished. Finally, the Tea they serve is basic Tetley Tea...seriously!!! Yet they offer L'Occitane bathroom amentiies, go figure?? Overall, I would not recommend this hotel, the website makes it look amazing, but it is simply mutton dressed as lamb. Having stayed for six nights, paying over £2.6K, I was very disappointed. The staff we met were great but this review is for the management.

This us an absolutely unique and beautiful old building. Loved all the rooms except the bedroom. I felt that although the owners have to maintain the esthetic look the bedrooms need updating and some new furniture not necessarily modern but furniture that maintains the look. The wardrobe was broken and all the other pieces looked really worn. The bathroom was very unusual with 3 great showers but there was nowhere to put toiletries except a small glass shelf. However, towels, soaps and bedding were very good. We did enjoy our stay here, the location, views and gardens were really spectacular. Breakfast was very good if you were down early, the cooked breakfast was excellent. Dinner in the evening was good but expensive. Staff were extremely helpful with great service. I would recommend this lovely hotel as long as you don't expect too much from the bedrooms.

In fact, had the Fellowship begun their journey here, they never would have left.
