About The Bull - Beaumaris
The Bull has stood on Castle Street in Beaumaris since the seventeenth century and remains the centre of the town's social life. The original building is a listed coaching inn with low beams, flagstones and an open fire, and the bar fills with locals as readily as with guests. Accommodation is divided between the inn itself and the adjoining Townhouse, a separate and considerably more modern set of rooms.
The inn rooms are traditional, some with four-posters, sloping floors and the creaks that come with a building of this age. The Townhouse rooms are the ones to book if you want space and light: bigger beds, bolder colours, better bathrooms and less noise from the bar below. Rooms at the front look across to the strait and the mountains, and are worth the supplement.
Food is a strength. The kitchen works with island producers and the menu changes with what is landed and grown locally, with Menai mussels and Welsh lamb regular fixtures. Breakfast is generous and served in the old dining room. Staff are consistently well reviewed, which counts for a lot in a building this idiosyncratic.
Location is the clinching argument. Beaumaris Castle is a two-minute walk, the pier and Green are barely further, and the town's cafés, delis and independent shops are all on the same street. That makes it ideal for couples and for anyone who wants to leave the car parked for a day or two. Parking is limited, so ask about arrangements when booking, particularly in summer when Beaumaris fills quickly.

Stayed over for one night on Monday 13th July in The Townhouse, which forms part of the accommodation block ran by the Bull’s Head. The check-in process was friendly and swift. Every member of staff we encountered was smart, polite and professional. Room was fantastic, with a large bathroom, large enough to easily accommodate the two wash basins within. The evening meal was great, and served with a smile. Good choice of beer available. Breakfast was excellent, too. Beaumaris is a laid back and relaxing place to spend some time, we will definitely return next year. When we do, we’ll stay in at the Bull’s Head again.

Came in for dinner - absolutely wonderful pub. We ate well and enjoyed every bite. The dining room was packed, but had such a gorgeous atmosphere. We were served in good time. Staff were really friendly. Honestly, this is what we wish our village locals were like. Stunning, tasteful, cozy spots for food, drinks and conversations. Highly recommended.

Decided to have a visit back to the past. I had the pleasure of working in this amazing place many years ago and wanted to experience the excellent service, amazing food and authentic setting that was the norm. We got none of those things. Service was poor, when charging those sorted prices where is the table service, very slow at the bar and no-one checked if our food was good when we’d been served. The food was so disappointing. Clearly where they once had talented chefs they now have cooks. The gravy was like water, potatoes cold and the scampi was something even Weatherspoons would be embarrassed to serve. The once cosy and welcoming atmosphere is now a canteen like ambience. So sad to have had such an overall very poor and disappointing experience from start to finish. Won’t be going back ever.

Lovely pub inside, nice courtyard and friendly staff but unfortunately the food wasn’t great for us. Ordered the hot honey ranch chicken ciabatta, the chicken had obviously been cooked with fish to the point where we thought we were eating fish! Also very expensive, over £60 for lunch and drinks for 3 of us.
