What guests say
We recently celebrated my grandmother’s 80th birthday at this hotel restaurant, and I can’t speak highly enough of the experience. From start to finish, everything was handled beautifully and with such care. The food was absolutely outstanding — not only delicious but also presented to a really high standard, which made the occasion feel even more special. Everything ran seamlessly throughout the event, allowing us to relax and truly enjoy the celebration. A special mention has to go to Jack, who looked after us so attentively. He catered to our every need with patience, warmth, and professionalism. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble for him, even as the drinks were flowing and we may have become a little more demanding than usual! His service genuinely made a huge difference to the day. We’d also like to thank Avril, who handled our booking so efficiently and made the whole planning process smooth and stress-free from the very beginning. Her organisation and communication were greatly appreciated. Thank you to the whole team for helping create such a memorable and joyful celebration for our family. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone looking to host a special occasion.

I just want to say a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at the Dunsilly Hotel for the kindness and care you have shown my parents over the past few years, especially my mum, Linda. The team truly make this hotel such a special place. It’s easy to see why my mum loved coming here so much. The warm, welcoming atmosphere of the team along with the fantastic coffee, cakes, and food always made it somewhere she felt comfortable and at ease. I also want to sincerely thank you for how you looked after us during my mum’s celebration of life. You were so accommodating and caring to everyone who attended, and it meant more than I can put into words. At such a difficult time, you created a space that felt supportive, calm, and full of warmth. I want to share a special mention for Gavin. My mum told me about the day she found out her cancer had progressed, and how Gavin showed such genuine kindness and compassion to both of my parents in that moment. The Dunsilly became more than just a place to visit it became their safe haven during an incredibly difficult time and somewhere they visited regularly. Thank you all again your kindness has made a lasting difference to our family and will never be forgotten.

I enjoyed my stay from start to finish, the newly refurbished bedrooms are a fantastic size and the rain shower was a superb experience. Indeed the quality of the room and welcome tray with local SD Bells coffee bags and tea is on a par and indeed outperforms some 4 and 5 star hotels that I have stayed in recently. The hot breakfast was made to order so of a higher quality than a hot buffet and beautifully presented too. The cold self service buffet offered all I could want including local Armagh apple juice, fruit salad with fresh pineapple and sweet freshly baked pastries alongside everything else you would expect. I also dined here on both nights and enjoyed the lamb roast dinner and the chicken stack. My guest raved about the wheaten bread that they got with their soup. The receptionist who greeted me on arrival really set the tone wonderfully - she had a fantastic way and is an asset to the hotel. I also appreciated the free parking and the countryside view from my room: 205 was the room I was allocated. I have stayed here before to attend a Jazzy Gin event at the nearby Antrim castle gardens, dined here before for lunch and attended work events here - it is excelling more than ever and I would gladly return and happily recommend.

Once again the Dunsilly has excelled itself! My walking group from Moira has been using the hotel for several years to provide us with scones and coffee after a walk in the nearby Clotworthy House and gardens. The food is always first rate and the service excellent. Rosie and Tina and the rest of the staff made us feel special and already we are looking forward to returning soon to this excellent hotel. Well done to all!
