Nairn Beach Review 2026: Why Over 55s Should Visit Scotland's Sunniest Seaside "Most people visit the Scottish Highlands for the mountains. They are missing the real secret..." ...the coastline that's actually sunnier than the rest of the UK and it's called Nairn Beach. 🏴 You've seen the Lochs. You've bagged the Munros. Now, let us introduce you to a slice of paradise on the Moray Firth – Nairn Beach. It’s not just a beach; it's a lifestyle. With a unique microclimate that makes it one of the driest spots in Scotland, you can finally enjoy coastal walks without the constant drizzle. 🌦️ Whether you're looking to spot dolphins (there’s a resident school of about 200!), play a round at a championship golf course, or just sit on a bench and watch the sunset, Nairn delivers. 🌅 But wait, it gets better. For those of you 55 and over, the location is perfect. A short 25-minute drive from Inverness, it’s accessible, peaceful, and rated as one of the top seaside towns in the UK. Think promenade walks, a 'Secret Beach' for ultimate peace, and the chance to see the Northern Lights in winter. ✨ It’s no wonder people come for a day and stay for a lifetime. A beautiful beach with white sand and crystal-clear water. There’s a car park and toilets available, with donations welcomed for both. It also features a lovely little park and a fun splash park.

First time visiting nairn beach after moving to the area 3 weeks ago. What a lovely beach, very clean. Wasn't overly busy so was nice for a morning stroll. There is a harbour next to the beach and a lovely bar and restaurant called the sun dancer. Met a few walkers with dogs , very polite and well behaved dogs 🐕

The best beach in the area covered by fine white sand with lovely views across the Moray Firth to the Black Isle, the Souter, the Nigg, etc. Good choice of parking nearby, places to eat, kids entertainment, mini golf ⛳️ etc
