Just stayed for 3 nights on the touring site with my wife and 3 kids .Parked on pitch 3 ,lovely to wake to a sea view .very clean site and has a nice new play park and a brand new shower block . Short walk to the beach. The thing I noticed some off the other pitches are along the road side of the site so I recommend you watch which pitch you pick .👍🏻

This is our static caravan, which is situated in Ballywalter. It has great views, a sandy beach, peace and quiet, and ideal for our grandson(s). We have been here a number of years and really enjoy our stays. Family and friends visit and enjoy it too. There is also a touring caravan area.

We had a 3 night stay here at the end of June on pitch 30. Nice quiet site right at the beach which was great. Everything was clean and tidy with plenty of space between pitches. A good little play park that our daughter enjoyed and made some friends. The warden called with us a couple of times and was so friendly and made us feel very welcome. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay at Sandycove. Will definitely be back.

Pitch 23, I picked this site as it looked quiet in the corner and ended up a little disappointed. Everything about the pitch seemed to be an after thought. There's a drain and water but they're off to the far side of the pitch meaning you need extra long drain pipes to reach. Mine is 3meters long and it couldn't reach. The water was the same so had to disconnect in order to fill the water which is just something you shouldn't have to do when relaxing on holiday. Having previously stayed on this pitch once before in my previous caravan I had not had these issues so if your water and drainage is on the offside of your van you may experience issues on this site. There's a very busy road yards from most pitches, it's a long straight country road so cars and motorbikes fly past and it doesn't seem like there's much from stopping them flying over the hedge if an accident happened. It's a little unsettling if you're safety conscious or have young children playing, it would be nice to see this addressed in future possibly by erecting a fence. The beach is lovely but it's advertised as private and it's not, there's caravan parks for miles all with access to the same beach so it's not too private but it's still nice. The site warden seems pleasant but the staff at the main office almost seemed like you were inconveniencing them by asking for information. The site is reasonable price per night hence the 2star but it's just not quite what you expect if you experience the water and drainage issues on this pitch. The website does put an interesting interpretation on what's actual reality imo.
