About Sharnbrook Inn Hotel
Templars Way sits within easy range of the River Great Ouse and the remains of Bedford Castle, and it's this stretch of Bedfordshire countryside and riverside town that forms the backdrop to the Sharnbrook Inn Hotel. The setting gives guests a base that feels rooted in the local landscape while remaining close to Bedford's own attractions.
The hotel has 42 rooms, including family rooms, each with air conditioning and access to room service. A garden and outdoor seating area give guests space to sit outside, while the on-site bar and 24 hour reception cover the essentials of a stay at any hour. Free WiFi is available throughout, and free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward.
For food and drink beyond the property, there are pubs, bars, restaurants and eateries nearby, along with entertainment options in the surrounding area. Guest feedback has been mixed, with a rating of 3.3 out of 5 from a small number of reviews, so it suits those after a straightforward, functional stay near the river and castle rather than a polished luxury break.
What guests say
I should have known from the reviews on Google but I chose to go with Booking.com which were better. I can only imagine 5 star get a friend's and family discount. Received email to check in at 3pm. Arrive at time and am greeted with a carpark that looks like a construction site. Falling walls, disconnected street lamp, petrol can parts on the floor for my child to play with. Couldn't find reception so a kindly construction worker smoking a cigarette directed me and my daughter to one of the rooms. The owner I think told me it would be just a minute and to wait. Where? Back to the unsafe car park. Promised a room with a garden room on booking.com. This means there is a wall outside all the room doors that has a big hole knocked in it and paying customers get the view of a field, with a broken hammock and a few chairs. After waiting 25min in the car park I searched for the owner, a reception that couldn't be found. As my family and I was leaving the owner came out to convince us to stay. Too little too late (customer service), and quite frankly my family didn't feel safe in such surroundings. I told the owner to keep our initial payment of £80. Next day the owner kindly sent an email that we were a 'no show' and have tried to charge us £129 lmao. Old smoky construction worker was indeed a witness 😂 Avoid this place at all costs. In all honesty I can't comment on the rooms but first impressions as a hotel/inn this is not recommended for families and is 2 star at best. Good luck
