Do not stay here! Horrific hospitality and unacceptable behavior from the host While we only stayed for a single night and checked in late, the experience was an absolute nightmare, entirely due to the hostility of the host and her staff. The Service & Host [Susie] Behavior: The checkout time was 10:30 AM. Shockingly, at 10:15 AM, staff members walked straight into our room while we were still actively changing. Then, at 10:27 AM—before checkout time had even arrived—the host Susie herself began aggressively knocking on the door. We politely asked for just 10 minutes to finish packing, but she completely lost her temper. She literally yelled at us to "get out of my property" multiple times. When we tried to explain that this was completely unprofessional and ruins the customer experience, she snapped, "stop lecturing me," and proceeded to insult us, calling us "bad guests" who "don't know how to function." Then after 10 mins when we tried to use the common space, she instructed and ridiculed us to "leave the premises". Her own friend was kind to give us a couple of mins but she would just not stop disrespecting us. The sheer lack of basic decency and manners was appalling. The Room & Amenities: While the room itself was basic and functional, the amenities were sub-par: The Bed: The mattress was of the worst possible quality. It was incredibly springy, lumpy, and resulted in a completely sleepless, uncomfortable night. Duvet had marks and sheet had hair stuck to it. The Bathroom: The bathroom door had no functioning lock, which is a basic privacy and safety issue. A host's job is to provide hospitality, but this woman treats paying guests with utter contempt and aggression- absolutely crazy. Save your money and your sanity—stay somewhere else.

Staying here this evening, after a lovely evening out, I'm sober, grabbed a jug of water as diabetic to take to our room, a lady charged through kitchen to say it's for whole house, I handed it back as hate confrontation, now I'm on warm tap water to keep hydrated, husband has had a few so didn't realise my needs of water.. such a simple thing. *Edit* The response from the owner stating my husband was falling about drunk is untrue, yes he tripped on front door but was no because he was drunk, I tripped earlier in the evening at the exact same spot. My water needs are due to being type 1 diabetic, fluid intake is crucial for my kidneys, I had a hospital stay a few weeks back due to my illness and this was supposed to be a trip away to relax. There are lots of rules in this house which I understand are for the comforts of other guests, but this lady thinks going up and down the stairs 4 or 5 times in the evening would have been more beneficial than just allowing a jug of water. My husband also received 3 calls between 4am and 5am from a withheld number and we are sure it was the owners/manager calling to disrupt our stay after I left the review. It's such a shame as other than the hostilities from this woman the house and rooms are much nicer than some others have implied. Water such a basic right in our country!

Came to the area for a bowls tournament; basic large room with three single beds. Ground floor with a walk in shower which was good (I'm disabled), a couple of steps to get in the front door. Parking area is small. Breakfast was serve yourself, cereal, toast, yogurt, a bit of fruit and tea or coffee. All very basic, affordable, clean and quiet. Upside, good pub across the road, surprisingly not too noisy for a Saturday night.
