What visitors say
Booked the campsite for the 24-27 July, been on this site previously about 6 or 7 years ago and way back then we had a great experience. I booked 4 hard standing pitches for our Party, all veterans. The booking procedure wasn’t the easiest imo and did try to call initially, but no answer, eventually was given information of how to book the site. Did try calling a couple of times before arrival and no answer. Clearly didn’t know that the site is under different ownership since our last visit. The photos provided on the website haven’t changed since our last visit, as last time there were animals to go and see etc. That has all gone, it even shows a children’s playground, well at time of booking Children were allowed, on arrival we were asked if we had children with us, as it is now an Adults Only site. Our first night we saw one of the members of staff driving around in his 4x4. There was a family near us with a Teenage girl, nobody from the site had informed them that Children were not allowed and the member of staff was quite rude and was quite abrupt to the family and gave them a lifetime ban from the site. This was done in front of our party. The member of staff was constantly driving around during the time we were there and it made us all feel uneasy. The owners are building a compound of lodges on site and it was like being on a building site. The owner has his Helicopter on site and not far from the pitches and it took off and landed whilst we were their. The shop on arrival was empty, the Toilet/Shower Facilities are extremely poor, only 3 showers for Men on the camp and 4 for the Ladies. They were dirty and the showers were not very good at all. There was nowhere to empty grey water and our pitch had a bad smell, as it seems people have just emptied grey water into the hedges behind the pitch. Overall a very bad experience and we certainly won’t go back again.

Beautifully situated campsite with nice, spacious pitches. Good location for visits to Oxford and Blenheim Palace. The absolute disappointment was the sanitary facilities. Outdated, but more importantly, not clean; in the three days we stayed there, the sanitary block was not cleaned even once.

Absolutely loved it here 😀 ❤️ The couple that run are fantastic, friendly and extremely helpful. The pitches are brilliant. All seem a good size with small bushes in between for that little bit of privacy. There's a fantastic little shop/tackle shop in the reception, which is well stocked with essentials, be it grocery or fishing tackle, it's also very reasonably priced. Don't think we've ever seen so many Red Kites or seen them so close, absolutely fantastic. There's 3 (I think 🤔) fishing lakes. We tried the small on for a couple of hours and caught 3 well conditioned carp. It was really windy and extremely chilly, but I would imagine you could "bag up" in warmer weather. Would we recommend this place to others - absolutely Will we be returning - most definitely

This was our 2nd visit to this site, the first one being about 4 years ago and I have to say I will not be returning. My first irritation is they do not return voicemails / messages left for them which is rude. On arrival it was not a friendly welcome somewhat officious. The fully stocked shop is bare so website needs updating or just take out the bit where you say you have a shop. There is no bar/ food which is such a shame as that was fab before. We were woken up every morning at 7am by JCBs or a VERY loud lawnmower but by 10am all the noise was clear...why allow this at this time when people are on holiday therefore trying to have a lay in?! It would have also been nice to have been informed that we were staying on a partial construction site...perhaps offered a discount for the disruption. The toilet block had not been cleaned in 3 days. The rest of the site with the lakes is stunning. All in all an extremley disappointing 2nd stsy.
