About Ocean Bay Hotel

Blackpool Tower is within easy reach of Ocean Bay Hotel, and Blackpool Pleasure Beach is well under a mile away, making this a practical base for exploring the resort's main attractions on foot. The promenade setting also puts golf, fishing, cycling routes and walking paths nearby, along with a choice of pubs, restaurants and entertainment venues for evenings out.

The hotel itself has 14 rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and free WiFi, with accessible rooms available for those who need them. Guests can start the day with breakfast on site, and there's a bar and drinks available in the room for later. A lift serves the upper floors, and luggage storage is on hand for early arrivals or late departures.

Beyond the rooms, facilities run to a gym and a spa with sauna, useful for unwinding after a day on the seafront, plus meeting rooms and a wedding venue for those planning an event. With the promenade, tower and pleasure beach all close by, it suits both a short seaside break and a stay built around Blackpool's attractions.

Stayed here for the lytham festival. The room (8) is very tired, there was thick dust in the wall lights, the window handle didn’t lock wand was permanently open, and filthy . The door was swollen hand had to be slammed to shut it, and the mirror was filthy. The shower room was a disgrace, and empty soap dispenser, painted tap that was peeling along with the painted tiled walls. It didnt appear clean at all . The bed was ok but the bedding is flat the pillows were flat and only 1 each . The towels were very thin . All in all not worth the inflated price. The owner hoped we gave good reviews he blamed all the issues on the council and that he was 4 years behind due to red tape. The windows required work but only 1 scaffolder firm in the country (London) would do it due to the wind on the coast . Would I stay here again ….. no .

The hotel is in a great location based on the south pier side of Blackpool. We stayed for two nights and did had a very strange arrival. Although the host was friendly and welcoming, it appeared initially that she didn't have a clue we were staying, despite sharing the reservation details and name. For a hotel with a small amount of guests I wasn't expecting that. Inside the room the bed was super comfy and very clean. We had a great sleep on both nights. However, there are some decoration issues and I found a hole and wallpaper stripped from the ceiling. In the bathroom things went severely downhill. There were the remnants of a previous guest's visit. The tap had some severe discoloration and there was some hair in the shower plug hole. There also seemed to be a blockage. When the bathroom sink was used foam would appear rising up in the shower. This meant we couldn't shower. The lighting is lacking in some areas of the bedroom so it's hard once dark to use the kettle. For breakfast we were under the impression there's a choice of cooked foods and cereal. You have to pay extra for a cooked breakfast so bear this in mind. There were some positives. The selection of coffees was nice. The host did have a baby chair out for us in the morning which was a nice touch. Sadly, the room needs some serious work. Oh and the appliances do need an inspection. Last tested in 2023.

Lovely little hotel away from the hustle bustle of Blackpool. Tram stop near by, pleasure beach close. Kid friendly good choice on the continental breakfast. Rooms clean and beds comfortable had a lovely couple of nights sleep. Hosts very hospitable and couldn't be more helpful. Dining room open if you wanted to get food in with plates and cutlery available. Overall really enjoyed our stay so thank you very much
