A straightforward hotel on Clifton Drive in Blackpool, a short walk from the Promenade and Tower, with parking on site.
About Stuart Hotel
Clifton Drive sits within easy reach of Blackpool's Promenade and Tower, and the Stuart Hotel makes use of that position, offering a base for exploring the seafront without needing to drive in each day. Parking is available on site, which helps given the hotel's proximity to the town's busier attractions.
Rooms are generally spacious with comfortable beds, and family rooms with en-suite bathrooms are available alongside a lift for easier access. Some rooms show signs of wear, so those wanting a newly refurbished feel should bear that in mind. A buffet breakfast with a good range of options is included, and the on-site bar, games room, and outdoor seating with a picnic area give guests places to relax without leaving the grounds. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful.
Beyond the hotel, the surrounding area suits walkers and cyclists, with golf and fishing also nearby, plus pubs, restaurants, and entertainment within reach for evenings out. Free WiFi and drinks in the room round out the practical side of a stay geared towards convenience over luxury.
What guests say
We stayed here last year when it was the previous owners and loved it, however this time we had a different experience sadly. Check-in - we were handed our keys and told the room number, no information given about breakfast or check-out…just sent on our way. I should note that the female on the front desk was very nice, just not very informed about what information to give new guests. Parking- very limited, only a few spaces. We had taken our car along to the tower (as we had someone with limited mobility) and unfortunately lost our space on the way back, we ended up parking across the road at the Delton Hotel for £10 for the night. Breakfast - it was okay, not as much selection as it was under the previous owners though, but they had sausages, bacon, fried eggs, fried bread, beans, tomatoes and chunky chips. They also had a couple of cereals and bread to make toast with Jam, butter and chocolate spread. It was kept very clean though and the young woman looking after this was constantly cleaning up. We did however pick up a yogurt from the fridge which was a few days out of date (this appeared to be a one off, as the rest were in date). Breakfast is only between 8-9am which is a bit early! Our table also only had two cups, despite there being 4 of us. The orange juice and apple juice were lovely though! Room - we had number 32, clean enough, few issues with the shower (one min was scalding hot, next min ice cold). The floor in the bathroom seemed to be a bit uneven too. Would also note that the blinds had missing slats in the bathroom (and the window in the bathroom wasn’t frosted glass so anyone could see in). The room also only had two mugs, despite this being a room for 4. Beds were comfy enough and clean enough, although the temp in the room was crazy hot, with no way to turn the radiators off. The window blinds were also broken so you couldn’t open these up at all. Bar area was a nice place to sit and have a drink….we ordered a takeaway and sat there to eat this as there was a sign saying we couldn’t take this up to the room. Accessibility - the property has a lift however don’t see rooms being suitable for disabled people as when you came out on the 3rd floor, you have to go up and down a few steps to get to the rooms. Location - right next to the pleasure beach and a two min walk from Burlington Road West tram stop so handy to get to the piers and tower. Would we stay here again? Probably not I’m afraid as it seems to have got very run down under new ownership. Our stay was fine but the whole hotel just needs a bit of TLC.

We stayed at the property for one night, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. The room had a strong, unpleasant smell like a cesspool, the carpets were extremely dirty, and it seemed that the bed sheets had not been changed. When we raised these issues with the staff, the girl at reception was quite rude and unhelpful, which made the situation even worse. We genuinely struggled to stay there even for one night. Overall, this was a very poor experience. The hotel seriously needs to improve its cleanliness standards, and it should be inspected by the health and safety authorities.
