Scarning Dale Cottages - The Cottage

The Cottage is a single-storey property within Scarning Dale's 25-acre grounds, where everything is on one level. Walking in, you find a living room with TV and electric fire, a kitchen-dining space with electric cooker and full-size fridge, and two bedrooms—one double, one with two singles—plus a shower room. Bed linen and Wi-Fi are included, and the essentials are covered; heating is by electric storage (charged weekly November to March).

Each room opens onto an enclosed garden with patio and seating. The grounds themselves stretch across meadow and woodland with a lake, pond and waterfall, connected by walking paths suitable for exploring on foot or watching for wildlife. You get private use of the indoor heated swimming pool for one hour daily by arrangement, and table tennis is available; there's also a shared snooker room for adults. One dog is welcome, kept on a lead outside the garden. An external utility room with coin-operated washing machine and tumble dryer serves the property.

The location sits between the North Norfolk coast—sandy beaches and RSPB reserves within reach—and the Norfolk Broads, about 40 minutes away, where boat hire and riverside walks are the main draw. East Dereham, the nearest market town, lies 2.5 miles off. Do note there is an unfenced pond and lake in the grounds.
