Maple Manor stands on an Essex estate where woodlands, paddocks and six private lakes create a secluded setting away from the everyday. The whole property is yours alone, making it ideal for groups wanting space to spread out without neighbours. Eight bedrooms and three bathrooms accommodate up to 19 people, with the layout split between reception rooms, a farmhouse kitchen opening onto gardens, and a leisure wing that includes an indoor swimming pool.
The grounds offer multiple ways to spend time together—a games room, tennis court and outdoor cinema are all there, while the enclosed garden has a barbecue for cooking outside. Parking is on site. Essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are covered. The property is non-smoking. Check-in is after 4pm and checkout before 10am.

What guests say
Room was clean with a big space. It was comfortable, and even though we stayed at the first room, noise was not too much coming from neighbours, the lobby and restaurant. The bath was lovely. Only concern maybe would be that there are no outlet/plug near the bed, so had to charge phones and electronics away from bed. Food at the restaurant was insane! It was tasty and felt really authentic (proper english). Overall stay was comfortable and service was accomodating.

Avoid room 7. It is an illegal room with no windows and one narrow exit. There is no air conditioning in this room. Just a single oscillating floor fan which does nothing but circulate warm air. No water for the kettle in the room. Bathroom tap temperature causing concern, (eg legionella etc). Generally very clean although decor and furniture dated and worn. Lights not working. However the rooms are set on the edge of a lovely garden, which is one of the positives. Other than that….its weird. Staff are either extremely friendly, rude or inconvenienced by guests. There is no cohesive idea of service- 3 menus 3 places to eat and no real communication as to where or who to go to. Some guests have their drinks carried by a waiter as they are moved to the restaurant and other like ourselves get “come on” the food is ok mostly well cooked but oven chips and blackened salad tips was disappointing and plenty of salt. Oh and be careful where you sit…whilst waiting for my main course to arrive the husk of a dead wasp floated down from the dusty beams above the table. Service so poor the kitchen shut before we could order desert. I would also like to point out that it is not a full English breakfast and £15 for a sausage, egg and two slices of bacon is a rip off. Particularly galling when you have to use the toilet urgently and find your legs are forced into contact with the toilet seat for the duration. This place could be amazing if someone was in charge. Don’t get me wrong this isn’t the worst place to stay and I would recommend it, but it’s quirky so you have to be tolerant and in our room it was like being a chicken in an air fryer.

Worst hotel Beds were stained and not comfortable. Room service was poop, internet was slow. Food and drinks were bad. Other guest smoking weed throughout the night outside our windows.. we were next door to a boiler room which was sooo loud. Im so surpised we lasted 2 nights.. came home and went asleep.. soooo knackered and feel so let down

I recently shot a wedding at Marygreen Manor. It's a lovely intimate venue surronding a central garden in Brentwood. Very helpful and friendly staff. Plenty of parking available. Looking forward to working there again.
