About The Stables
Bed down between Bristol and Bath at The Stables, a relaxed, budget-friendly site spread across 10 green acres—some of which host a herd of alpacas. The car-free Bristol and Bath Railway Path runs right alongside the pitching field, offering 13 miles of flat cycling and walking along the River Avon, past waterside pubs and wild swimming spots. A sports club sits behind the site for evening drinks, while Keynsham (five minutes by car, or catch the local bus) has shops for supplies.
Both cities are half an hour away: don't miss Bath's Roman architecture or Bristol's graffiti art. The Cotswolds lie 20 minutes north, Cheddar Gorge 40 minutes south. The laidback owners are full of local tips and welcome well-behaved dogs (on leads). Facilities are basic—four portable loos, drinking water, chemical disposal—but that's reflected in the very reasonable pitch prices, making it ideal for backpackers, tourers and anyone happy to keep things simple in a peaceful, prettily situated spot.

Beautiful site with a beautiful owner. Never met a woman with such a big heart and wonderful soul! Talking with Pam is such a pleasure, never have I been welcomed onto a site like I was by Pam and cute little Billy. The site is very well looked after with plenty of space. There is a lovely wild area in the middle so you aren’t looking directly at a neighbour across the way, everywhere you look is green full of nature. There are lots of bird to watch and listen to, butterflies and even birds of prey. I was lucky enough to come face to face with a barn owl using the wild area to hunt one evening. The facilities are basic and have everything you would need, toilets, fresh water, black waste, recycling and waste bins. If you are lucky you will catch a glimpse of the Alpacas in the adjoining field whilst collecting your water or visiting the toilets. This site is immaculate and has friendly people staying here. It is officially our favourite site ever! It is also dog friendly and is definitely big enough for a trot around with your furry companions and plenty of nature walks nearby as well as a cycle path that takes you directly into Bristol or Bath. Thank you for a wonderful stay Pam! Well done on what you have achieved here! Keep doing what you are doing because you have nailed it! Cant wait to stay again!

Fantastic site, extremely well kept , clean & tidy toilets. There is a strip along the campsite that is left for nature to blossom, which also gives you some privacy from people on the opposite side of the field. Great location for dog walks & family time. the owner is so lovely & friendly . Would definitely recommend!🤍

Lovely campsite. Just the basics, but done really well. Site was immaculate and beautifully done, with short grass around the edge for camping and long grass in the middle of the field for wildlife. Saw various birds of prey, including a barn owl. Lovely walks with steam trains, great views, rivers and plenty of pubs along route. Already looking forward to visiting again!
