About Buckland Manor
Buckland Manor stands in the small village of Buckland, about two miles from Broadway, and traces its origins back to the thirteenth century, when it began life as a private family home rather than an inn. That history is central to the atmosphere: this is a genuinely old English manor house, set in ten acres of walled gardens and rolling grounds, rather than a purpose-built hotel dressed up to look historic.
The manor is part of the Andrew Brownsword Hotels collection, whose other properties include Amberley Castle and The Bath Priory, and it shares their emphasis on understated luxury rather than overt formality. The restaurant leans on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and is designed for a slow, lingering meal rather than a quick turnaround, in keeping with the manor's rural setting, and afternoon tea is served in the drawing rooms or gardens depending on the weather.
Buckland itself is a tiny, quiet village with a twelfth-century church and views straight onto the Cotswold escarpment, making the manor a good choice for visitors who want to be near Broadway's shops and restaurants without staying in the middle of its day-trip traffic. The gardens and surrounding countryside also make it a popular choice for weddings and small private events.
What guests say
Last week our family of 12 went to lunch at Buckland Manor to Celebrate the Life of my late mother. Our table was in the private dining room over looking the garden and we all enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal. Lee and his team were quietly efficient, attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend a visit.

We’ve stayed 3 times at the Buckland and afternoon teas several times. Today was our 47th anniversary. In the past they have put a chocolate on a plate with a note written in chocolate. The cream and jam arrived with one spoon !! When I asked for more cream and jam it duly arrived not on a plate with clean spoons but the 2 pots and removed the empty ones and replaced with the new ones. No clean spoon. I asked for a tea refill ( never had to ask before it was always offered ) I think the tea arrived in the original tea pot. Stain on spout. It all missed the mark. Big disappointment After finishing we sat for a while for the waitress to come back. She didn’t so I went to reception and found 4 of them crowded into the small reception. It’s definitely lost that special something. £92.40 wasted I’m so disappointed.

Lovely dinner with my family. The service is fantastic and could not have been better. Lee and Jasmine were very attentive, professional, and personable. The scallops and gnocchi were outrageously good. Best meal I’ve had in the UK!
