Commons Farm Cottage
Calderdale
Commons Farm Cottage is a renovated 17th-century farmhouse on a working sheep farm above Hebden Bridge. You arrive into a characterful interior with exposed beams, original stone fireplace and mullioned windows framing the surrounding countryside. The layout is straightforward: ground floor holds the living room with a gas fire, a kitchen-dining room with electric cooking, and a shower room; upstairs, two double bedrooms each have their own ensuite with walk-in shower. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included.
The garden is the main event. A south-facing flagstone patio holds a private five-person hot tub on one side and an electric barbecue with dining furniture on the other—this is where you'll spend your time in decent weather. The cottage backs directly onto the Calderdale Way, so walking and cycling begin at your door; Hardcastle Crags and the Pennine Way are close by. A 10-minute walk reaches a food-serving pub and local bus stop, while shops and a post office are a further 5 minutes on. Hebden Bridge itself is 1½ miles away. The property is non-smoking, and there is private parking for four cars and a bike store.
