About Craskie Estate
An hour from Inverness, this remote 155-acre Highland estate wraps around its own loch and a stretch of the River Cannich—where guests can fish for perch and brown trout with a permit from reception. The scenery is genuinely spectacular: heather moorland, native birch and pine forest, with red deer wandering daily and otters, pine martens, buzzards and the occasional golden eagle all spotted regularly. Fourteen munros stand within reach for serious hill walkers, while waterside trails at nearby lochs offer gentler exploring—or head half an hour to Drumnadrochit for Loch Ness itself.
With just a handful of pitches and campfires allowed, the atmosphere stays peaceful and unspoiled. The village three miles away covers essentials—pub, post office, a well-stocked shop doing takeaway pizza—so you're secluded but not stranded. Perfect for soaking up wild Highland beauty without seeing another soul for days.

What a wonderful place! The views are absolutely lovely, making it a perfect spot for simple relaxation. For us everything was great at Craskie, but it would be absolutely wonderful to refresh the pods, particularly the front pod decking. This enhancement would be quite beneficial and would surely make guests even happier to return! It's wonderful to see owners supporting free fishing opportunities! This is such a generous gesture that truly benefits everyone involved and surely brings joy to many. Thanks

We had a lovely stay here ,amazing views and very relaxing .The only disappointment was it's a long walk to toilet especially at night poor lighting ,only one shower working properly there's only two . We were given a BBQ with instructions payed extra for coals ECT only to find it was missing a grill .When we complained we were told oh you must have a old one I'll change it she never did .Needs updating as it's a shame as otherwise it's a lovely place .Take disposable BBQ just in case things haven't changed .

We stayed in the Old Mill accommodation. This is a lovely little cottage with a gorgeous view. It makes for a great location for local walking and not too much driving to get to other regions of exploration. The owners are friendly and on hand should you need something. You can see the efforts they have gone to to make Craskie welcoming and inviting. If you stay in the Old Mill there is a fenced area in front of the cottage that is your front garden where your dog can roam around without getting up to mischief. All the amenities you need are provided, but you will be washing up after every meal, as there are no spares if there are three of you. This is a great location to explore some of the Highlands and local glens and at a reasonable price too. I can only see this getting better over time as the owners continue to invest and pour themselves into their business.

What a stunning location to get away from it all...literally. peaceful, tranquil, outlandish scenery, epic walks, epic road trips form our base at The Old Mill. Great hosts, dog friendly with brilliant close walks. I simply cannot recommend enough....we've booked to return in October 😀
